“Hand Block Printing - A Reviving Craft”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2013

Stop here and spend a little time and a very little money to see how hand block printing on cloth is done. The anthropology lesson is worth the price of admission and the gift shop has some first class examples of the craft for sale and modest prices.

“A great insight into regional textiles in a beautifully restored building”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2013

We loved this museum. If you are interested in textiles and block printing this is a fantastic array of samples and history on display. We particularly enjoyed watching a skilled craftsman demonstrating how the blocks are carved and another printing a piece of cloth with multiple blocks and colours, building up an ornate deisgn before our eyes. The building itself is located in an interesting ruin-strewn part of Amer and is beautifully restored. The toilets are clean and there is a good shop. We spent an hour there before visiting the Fort and were very glad to have seen it.

“Amazing!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013

So glad we made the time to check this place out! Got to see up close the process of making the blocks for printing and then watch another artist perform the hand printing onto textiles - so neat! The gift shop had wonderful and cheap items for purchase - a great place for high-quality and meaningful souvenirs.
