“Charming Hotel in Jaipur”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2008

We stayed at the Dera Rawatsar on an overnight trip from Delhi. The hotel was not the most luxurious place but it was spacious, comfortable and charming. The room was almost like a little apartment with a sitting room and a separate bedroom. We got in on the train pretty late, but they even sent a driver to come pick us up - no charge!

They have a lovely breakfast spread that is included in the rate.

The property also has a pool and courtyards which make for a nice calm place to sit after a long day out on the town.

We'd definitely stay here again if in Jaipur!

WE stayed here for 3 nights and it was absolutely wonderful. My partner had a cold to ride out, the special ginger tea via room service kept coming, the staff were lovely, helpful and kind, not intrusive but attentive when needed! The room was very clean and decor well thought out with some heritage style pieces of furniture. There's a pool!! and a very interesting library that is worth taking half an hour to visit. From the bustle of crazy traffic and chaos this Guesthouse is an oasis when you need it!!

I stayed 2 nights in Dera Rawatsar and it was great. The big room was clean, nicely decorated and furnished, but unfortunately no daylight in the room.
The staff was very nice and I could have diner where ever I wanted, so on my request diner (and breakfast) was served outside in the beautiful garden.
Location is good and so is breakfast and diner.
The only thing I missed in this hotel was WIFI.

This is a small hotel which is centrally located. The rooms are clean, comfortable and elegantly decorated. The room we stayed in was large with a large bathroom and although next to the restaurant was very quiet. The breakfast was not included in the room rate; we didn’t find it particularly appetizing so gave it a miss after the first day.

The staff were very courteous and happy to arrange a car for us to go sightseeing. They will also happily arrange a pick up from the airport or train station The hotel is handily located 100m from a pre-pay rickshaw stand which we found very useful for getting to restaurants in the evening and shopping at the Bazaars. The hotel is also conveniently close to the train station. We had a late train out of Jaipur and we were able to store our baggage and use the facilities until the late afternoon with no problems.

This hotel is good value for money and a great place to stay in Jaipur.

located just behind the main bus station yet in a quiet residential area of jaipur it was very convenient getting around the city and asking for directions.
the extended house itself has very nice rooms ( check out the garden room @ the back ) and clean bathrooms with modern amneties.
the food although limited in variety, is home cooked too.
the staff, especialy the daughter in law, mandvi is very helpful in giving directions and shopping hints !
great stay !

I have just returned from a business trip to India, 4 days of which I spent in Jaipur. I was there 6 months ago and found through Asia Rooms website a wonderful hotel named Dera Rawatsar. It read like the perfect place to stay and I was not disappointed, Needless to say on my return to Jaipur last month, I stayed there once again. It is a family run boutique hotel with only 16 rooms and was once the family home. It is run by 2 delightful ladies, a mother-in-law and her daughter-in-law. Both they and their staff are warm, friendly, very eager to please and interested in the travels of their guests. The hotel has style, warmth, comfort , a beautiful garden and courtyards where you can have your meals. A pool is currently under construction and it is close to the Pink City and all the action, but tucked away in a quiet street. So it is the perfect play to stay and wonderful value for money. It is my Taj Mahal and I cannot recommed it hightly enough.

After having been in India for 14 days, the Dera Rawatsar in Jaipur was a wonderful, cozy, homelike, guest house for weary travelers. The staff catered to our every need, including providing heaters for our rooms because of the record cold temperatures this region was experiencing. When our friend got sick the staff was very attentive and checked frequently to make sure everything was OK. The food was very good, prepared with care and to our taste. We felt very cared for in this warm, friendly and relaxing atmosphere. Of all the places we stayed during our time in India, including hotels with marble floors and facades, the Dera Rawatsar was our favorite. We highly recommend this place for rest and quiet reflection.
