“Best food in Rajasthan”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2013

Th hotel itself is very good value for money- the whole attire aspires to quite higher standard (palace interiors, gold gilded doors etc), but still the prices are mid range. Clean & decent service. BUT: the roof top restaurant is a class for itself! Absolutely surprising, one of the best food we've had in weeks' Rajathan. Partucularily the mutton in spinach - worth a visit just to taste the velvet like graavy...:) we highly recommned.

Booked this place based on Tripadvisor ratings and was not at all disappointed. Awesomely done place and gives you a feel of a palace. Nicely done furniture and rooms, well lit, good attention to details. The room should have been more spacious (Suggest they should put in LCD TV’s on wall and that should take care of the little bit of clutter). The restaurant – roof top and ground are done in regal fashion and make a lovely setting. Purely a colourful and Rajasthani experience.

The manager was helpful and took care of our requirements. The other hotel staff could be better but they took care of us.

A truly recommended property !!

The hotel is nice and close to the major tourist attractions in Jaipur. It is located in a nicer neighborhood on a quiet street.
The hotel itself was clean, washrooms were well maintained and the shower was great. There was ample hot water (which is sometimes a problem in India) and it was relaxing to take a shower after a tiring day in Jaipur.

The staff was courteous and helpful.
Food at the restaurant was alright. Their breakfast was good but dinner was average.
Breakfast was included in our package and it consisted of an assortment of vegetarian and non-veg options.
They had parathas, idllis, pav bhaji, samosas etc. They also had toast and made eggs to order.

Dinner was average - there are better places to eat at in Jaipur.

Rickshaws and taxis outside the hotel were more expensive than if you walked for 2 mins and flagged one down at the end of the street.

Overall, a good experience though and worth the money spent.

I went to jaipur for family vacation over weekend from Pune.like all traveller searched internet for good VFM B&B hotel got nice review of Umaid Mahal so went ahead and call for reservation.
Did reservation from expedia since it was cheaper than hotel site.

To my surprise Hotel was dot clean and very well maintained, its not like other regular hotel's its entirely into its own league and the whole rajasthani touch is very nice and soothing.Rooms are very good and spacious. They have compromised bit on linen but given that price point it too much to ask for.

Staff response was very dull and slow, they dont even bother to pick luggage from front gate and literally they dont look proactive and professional, its like you need to ask for everything.i found the same behaviour from Front Gate Securtiy to Reception, may be because they have so many foreigners guest but its not like we are staying there for free.

Food was nice nothing much to talk about.

I would recommend if you strictly want it as B&B though there are plenty of options in Jaipur.

Room Tip: Go for ground floor room.

The Umaid Mahal is decorated like a palace with grand hallways and staircase. My room was very clean and the bathroom well appointed with plenty of hot water and a great shower. An extra dressing area was a bonus for my suitcases. The room had AC, TV and tea and coffee. The breakfast downstairs was plentiful and delicious. When I called for help with the AC and TV, they responded promptly.

Heritage hotel with excellent value. The interior, the decorations, the hotel facade will bring you a taste of the maharajas! Clean and spacious rooms (suite was great), welcoming and attentive staff. The rooftop restaurant is a must - awesome views, excellent cuisine and service. Breakfast is served downstairs next to the pool. Location is close to the train station (not much to see around) but makes it good for exploration of the city - pickup and dropoff arranged. Wifi available
Definitely recommended!

Pleasant stay at Hotel Umaid Mahal with family. Hotel staff is also good. Hotel is having pick up and dropping facilities upto nearest station and it is very much useful for odd hours. Cab booking through hotel is little bit costlier. I have booked three Royal suit rooms but one of the room was very small. Hotel is taking same charges for all the rooms but while provideing rooms they are not providing same type of rooms. But one can say that it is nice and could be adjustable.
