“Great value for budget hotel in India”

For 800 rupees / night, this hotel is fantastic. Hot water (rare in India), toilet paper, soap, clean sheets/towels, and comfortable mattresses. Free high-speed internet, and you can leave your luggage at reception for the day.

A rickshaw ride to the hotel should be no more 20-30 rupees from the Jaipur train station, it is less than 1 km away.

Delhi tour operators told us this hotel was dirty, as did the rickshaw drivers.... the hotel managers don't pay commissions. Don't let crooked tour operators deceive you, this place is great.

Breakfast is good and reasonably priced, but more Western food available than Indian food, so you will want to eat your other meals at some of Jaipur's yummy restaurants.

Staff gave good recommendations for touring Jaipur, we weren't planning to see Amber Fort, but we're glad they convinced us to go. Prettier than Versailles, in our opinion.

This hotel is in the middle of the city, so be prepared to be woken up by the sound of traffic by 6 am. Welcome to India.

We stayed in Atithi Guest House for 2 nights in Jan. 2009. The rooms and bathrooms + the whole guest house were very clean - and that is not easy to find in India. The owners were very friendly and helpful. So if you come in to Jaipur stay there. You will like it - for sure.

“Nice, clean and comfortable; some booking oddities”

This is a very nice hotel with friendly staff. My 650Rs room was clean and comfortable with hot shower. The kitchen has a basic menu but good for breakfast.

I don't think they do bookings in the same way we might expect, as when I turned up they offered me a variety of rooms and I'm sure that if someone had wanted the room I'd booked before me they would have given them it. Also, when I was sick on the day I was supposed to be leaving they asked me to pay full price and checkout at 11pm for my overnight train, but when I was too sick to travel I found they'd booked someone else into the room after me! (they still let me stay overnight)

Atithi Guest House is great value. It's clean and quiet with daily room attendance. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. No hassles whatsoever. The internet is fast and cheap. Shower's nice and hot. The roof terrace is a relaxing place to have breakfast although you'll want to venture elsewhere for your dinner. Not that's the food is not OK. There are just so many other great place to try out. Unless you need a 5 star hotel, anyone will feel comfortable here. It is very relaxed. It is in a nice area of town with all facilities within walking distance but you'll need a rickshaw to take you to the old city (5-10 minutes). I traveled 3 weeks in India and this was the best hotel deal I got. Comes highly recommended.

“they canceled my reservation after arrival”

each detail of my reservation for 5 people was confirmed via email, but after arrival to Jaipur to this "guest house" first they said this reservation is not confirmed (I had printout of emailing history with them!!!) and there's no free rooms but when I showed them printed email history, they doubled price of the room and said there's room only for two.

finally we went very tired to the hotel in front of their "guest house" and paid good price for room for 5

I'M NOT RECOMMENDING atithi guest house unless you have much time and money.
