“Expectations exceeded - The most relaxing stay in India so far!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2013

I have only ever given one other hotel an excellent before but this one deserves it! We stayed here 3 nights after visiting Kolkata, Varanasi, New Dehli and now Jaipur. This hotel has to be the best by far for many reasons.

Often when hotels have good ratings on Tripadvisor the prices are dramatically increased. This place is rated well and priced well! That is what keeps people coming back.

The location is great as it is out of the main centre in a quiet up-market residential area. It's approx. 5-10 mins in tuk tuk but only 5 mins from the train station which they can organise a pick-up - but you can easily walk as we did.

The actual villa/hotel is a beautiful heritage building with a fabulous garden that offers a peaceful and relaxing time. The decor is traditional/antique style and very classy & beautiful artwork.

The best part about this hotel is the hospitality of the staff and FANTASTIC restaurant! Every meal was tasty! The kitchen is open and clean. The menu is great - an extensive mix of Indian and European at reasonable prices. We had breakfast/lunch and dinner here! We had Indian most nights (Channa Masala and Aloo Gobhi - Yum!). Then tried the pizza and pasta one night which was great! The cappuccino/masala tea and banana lassi are particularly good, oh and desert! We ate out once at another hotel but much preferred Anuraag Villa.

Our room was semi-deluxe (no a/c but didn't need it) on the bottom floor and was clean, bright and had a pleasant bathroom attached with a decent toilet! The hot water worked well and the water drained adequately! I mention these factors as other places we have stayed in India - the bathrooms have been fairly run down. Bed, towels and linen all comfortable and clean. We even did laundry at the hotel and it was returned the same day!

The only thing I encourage is for the hotel to be more competitive with the rates/prices on tours. We wanted to booked through the hotel and inquired but then visited the Rajasthan Tourism Office where there were more flexible options at better prices.

I wish we had longer at Anuraag but we will be back!

Good hotel with pleasant & calm location, nice service, clean rooms, economic. The garden restaurent is very nice. We had a candle light dinner in the garden. The food was not amazing but the service & surrounding is much better.

We stayed here in February 2013 for 8 nights on a business trip. We were pleasantly suprised by the nice quiet garden to relax in after escaping the hustle of Jaipur. We were a little disapointed when we saw our room as it was quite dark and dingy for the price. The cold water in our shower did not work and so the shower was too hot to use properly! All the meals we had here were nice and the waiting staff were very friendly! The main disapointment was when we came to pay our bill and were offered no discount or special price for staying for 8 nights! We had emailed before our visit and asked about this as everywhere we have stayed before for this length of time we have been offered some discount. We were then told they had given us a special room price but after looking on their website saw it was the usual tarrif for a one night stay.
Although this wasnt the best budget place to stay long term I would still recommend a short stay of a few nights here!

This is a surprising gem of a hotel. A couple of kilometres from the Old City, but worth the autorickshaw ride as it is an oasis from the hustle of Jaipur.
The rooms are large and spotlessly clean. There is wifi and the staff are very helpful and friendly.
The garden has tables for eating or simply relaxing with visitations of peacocks.
The meals are delicious and reasonably priced.
One of the better places to stay in India for the price.

I stayed here in March 2013. We chose the hotel as it had a garden to relax in after the visiting hectic chaos of Jaipur itself.
The hotel is a little bit far from the action so either walking along main streets or a rickshaw are required to visit stuff.
That being said it is set in a wonderful area with a great garden so more than compensates for the slightly out of town location.
The room was clean very big, but basic. The staff very friendly and attentive and the garden a real oasis.
In short it was well worth the money and highly recommended.

Too far from the attractions town to walk there, not so much because of the distance but because of the chaos in the streets. However, the area is very quiet, which is a blessing on returnig after a day out. And a tuktuk at between fifty and eighty Rupees to Chandpol is affordable. The room was generous and very clean, the service excellent; the sheets were changed every day! Wi-fi in the room, but somewhat slow. The menu offers the average touristy Indo-European fare, except for two items: the coffee, which is abominable, and the müesli with youghurt for breakfast, which is great; müesli fans suffering from withdrawal symptoms can recover here. There is a very pleasant garden, decorated with the occasonal peacock strutting past.

We stayed in this lovely hotel for a few nights. The staff were very helpful and the garden outside was quiet and great to stretch out your limbs or watch the nightly puppet show, that is but very amusing. The food was good but the service slow.
The rooms are big and clean while very atmospheric.
