Hotel Pearl Palace was a real treat to stay at. Prices were excellent - I think we paid 600Rp (about $15 at the time - January 2011) for our double room with private bathroom. The service was very helpful, friendly and honest - in fact they have made a reputation of it, including not paying rickshaw drivers commisions (so often they won't take you there). The room was clean, spacious and nicely decorated for such a cheap place, the bed relatively comfy (by India's hard standards anyway) and the building charming.
The rooftop restaurant was great too, with good food and a great outlook, though maybe a touch overated, as everyone raved about it, but we found cheaper and better places (for the food part of it anyway) recommended by our rickshaw driver - though not sure that I can remember the other restaurant's name - if so, I'll put a review up.
All in all, though you may find cheaper in part, it would be difficult to find better value in much of India.

Hotel Pearl Palace is an extraordinarily beautiful hotel with classic Indian features and attentive staff. Our room was fairly basic but clean and had a big balcony. The rooftop restaurant was delicious and convenient, ensuring that we ate there most days and nights. Common room is beautiful and a shared library adds a communal feel to the haveli. Although it is not situated in the centre of town, the main sights are a short tuk tuk drive away and there are always a swarm of drivers waiting outside the hotel. Would highly recommend Hotel Pearl Palace to all those staying in Jaipur.

Hotel Pearl Palace went out of their way from start to finish to make our stay as pleasant and easy as possible, which is truly rare to find. We stayed here for 4 nights after I made a mix up on our itinerary and booked the wrong nights by mistake, but I rang ahead and reception managed to sort it out for us at the last minute which was wonderful. The room was spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and had all the modcons you would expect, along with a selection of english language movie channels if you ever find yourself wanting a lazy day or night. The upstairs restaurant was also great, the service is a little slow but if you find yourself in India for a long time you will know this is the norm rather than the exception. The rooms are really great value for what you get and the staff are knowledgable and helpful. A real pleasure to stay with!
The only real complaint I had was that our room was next door to reception and not the best sound-proof wise, so it would be really wonderful if in future staff could remind guests to keep it down late at night / early in the morning, as people did tend to congregate right outside our door. Apart from that though, I would say Pearl Palace is easily one of the best places I've stayed in after four months in India. Thanks for a great stay!

Hotel pearl palace had the best interior decoration of all the hostels and hotels that we stayed at in South Asia. It was even better than some of the hotels that costs $100+ USD.

The decoration of the peacock restaurant on top is also fantastic.

What's more is the hotel's focus on service. The staff were wonderful and the reshape drivers (Sharuk and his boss) were high energy, and extremely nice people! We went on a day your with Sharuk and it was hasseless, highly recommended.

Finally, we also had a long chat with Mr. Singh's father about their family story and religion. Wonderful people!
