“One of the finest forts in Rajasthan as well as in India, You must ride an elephant to see it.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2013

Amber Fort is one of the the best forts you will get to see in India, going up on an elephant is a must, Built by Kachwah Rajputs, some of the early structures are contemporary to Mughals and later represent what you call Rajput style but that too is essentially based on Mughal's architecture, Glass palace is just too good and views from top are awesome.

“Marvelous place...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013

You need a guide to truly understand the history and depth of the Palace. Guides asks high amounts but if you negotiate good, they reduce the charges. I paid INR 100/- when I was asked 200/-.

To start with real review, road to Palace is steep. You may take your car along with you. Road goes up to just 200 mtrs before entry gates and do not worry about parking, they have sufficient space up there. Palace in itself is magnificent, but the views of Jaipur from Palace are mesmerizing. Make sure you go to Sheesh Mahal, secret exits from Fort and area where Queens used to live.

“Felt like a Rani”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

My friend and I had a blast visiting Amber Fort. We felt like we had traveled to another time and age. Our ride up sitting atop a majestic elephant with colorful parasols in hand made us feel like queens, or Ranis. Our mahout was singing classic Hindi names which made the ride even more fun. Inside the fort, we took tons of pictures as we walked around. Fantastic architecture, a lot of culture and heritage to explore!
