“A central city gem”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2013

The entrance off the street is far from inviting. You may even hesitate to enter. However once parked in the small carpark you pass through to reception to this small Haveli. The rooms are grand, the dining room palatial, the food is Indian and good, the staff are very good. The modest pool is a real pleasure to sit round. This is small but very nice place to stay. It has a central courtyard which gives a cooling effect. There are grander (and considerably dearer) places to stay out of Jaipur but I would never be sorry to stay here again, and especially if I was without private transport, as its so central. I liked it so much I booked an extra night and stayed on!

I loved our experience in this Haveli- we travelled here in January 2013 and it was a great first stop on our trip around Rajasthan. It is not a five star hotel but it is a unique heritage property with a very romantic vibe.

Really liked our room- beautiful furniture and four poster bed etc. Great. Very regal and old school Rajasthan feeling.

The restaurant got bad reviews on here but I don't know why...the food was excellent and the chefs were creative and the buffet was good. Only thing is PLEASE GET REAL COFFEE!!!! Nescafe= the devils pee and seriously if you are charging this much then get some good coffee :) That is my only suggestion.

We felt like royalty staying here- the staff were excellent, the rooms charming and the gardens are just beautiful.

Thanks for a great stay!

Room Tip: We stayed twice and the first time our room was really small but the same price so maybe just ask fo...

This beautiful heritage hotel is tucked away behind a row of shops and is very conveniently located within walking distance of one of the City gates. The decor is stunning. Each room is different but all very regal, we had a large 4 poster bed in a sizable room, it was gorgeous. We tend not to eat in hotels, but the buffet was inexpensive and very good, and fresh naan was made and delivered to the table. The dining room was outstanding, but we chose to eat all of our meals in the courtyard which was also beautiful, and very well maintained. The pool was clean and refreshing. Massage services were available, although the masseur came to the room as there didn't appear to be a spa area. The only issue that we encountered was that front desk neglected to mention that if you want any kind of room service, you need to leave the key at the front desk. As a result we had no room service while we were there. There were also some dirty dishes outside of our room and a broken glass that in the end I moved myself to a nearby table. They sat there until we left for some reason. Overall, the hotel is absolutely beautiful, the restaurant staff very friendly, I would stay there again.

We felt this hotel was average. It didn't deserve the 4/5 star rating.
We were shown to our room when it wasn't ready and had 1/2 a dozen chaps running round trying to finish cleaning it. There was no tea/coffee making facilities in the room which surprised us given this is supposed to be a 4 star hotel.
The buffet restaurant was cheap but you got what you paid for ! The staff failed to tell us there was an al a carte menu available. One or two of the restaurant staff were friendly but generally the service wasn't great.
Having stayed in 4 hotels over the course of our week's tour we found the Alsisar disappointing.

Walking into the hotel is like walking into a One Thousand and One Nights fairytale. The hotel is so beautiful with many lovely decorated rooms for the guests to use and the courtyards are so charming and very well kept and the restaurant is absolutely fabulous. The pool area is very nice too and you can go to the roof top to catch the sun's last rays.
We stayed in a spacious and well equipped double room facing the main courtyard to one side and one of the small courtyards to the other. It wasn’t a deluxe room but could as well have been.
In the upper side of one of the windows to the east side there was a stained-glass window in a variety of colors which colored the wall in the most beautiful colors when the morning sun hit the glass.
Breakfast is good and so is dinner. We chose the buffet for dinner which consisted of a good selection of mainly Indian dishes
We stayed at Alsisar Haveli for 3 night and enjoyed every minute

All 6 of us aged 5 to mid 60s had an excellent stay. Very well maintained and clean. Large rooms well appointed , good decor throughout and in the classic Indian style with plenty of space. Rooms were big enough for the two small girls to have separate beds all in their parents room. Doors to balcony have mosquito nets. Mosquito plug in controllers in rooms. Though we werent troubled by mosquitos. Very good heritage public rooms and restaurant. Friendly and helpful service . Good menu of Indian meals, more restricted if you wanted " western" type dishes. We liked the sitar and tabla players in the restaurant also. Attractive large Swimming pool. Massage available.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2013 via mobile

We stayed in Jaipur during Diwali and there were few accommodations available. We ended up at the Alsisar on our tour agent's recommendation. The haveli is beautiful and charming and common areas are relatively well maintained. Our room, on the other hand, was unimpressive: tired looking, with shabby decor. Bathroom was old (with a pipe leaking for the whole duration of our stay). I would not say the room was dirty, but did not look particularly clean either. Breakfast buffet was unispiring and repetitive. Service was proper Best Exotic Marigold Hotel: friendly, smiley but just not up to scratch. Guesthouse level more than hotel. Staff gave you the impression they did not really know what to do (but with a smile). Also I found unipressive that owners were always occupying the best spot in the garden in the evening. The place has great potential, but at the moment is just ok and definitely overpriced.
