“The Best Hotel on our Indian Tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2011

As with many hotels the area around this one is rather shabby - BUT - just step inside. Staff are friendly and considerate. We had a suite in the new wing at the rear of the hotel. Tasteful, comfortable and beautifully furnished. The dining room is a marvel, although the weather was so good that we ate on the terrace. Wonderful food, fantastic porridge for breakfast. This was, without doubt, the most beautiful hotel on our tour. Would recommend it to anyone

Beautiful property that transports you back in time to the glory days of the Raj. We were upgraded gratis (not sure why other than we always try to be freindly during check in) to a suite that was loaded with antiques as well as all the modern amenities that we needed. The beds were clean and comfortable and we had a nice sitting area On a terrace (no view to speak of) outside the front door. The public areas were very impressive architecturally although it appeared that the outside walls could use a coat of paint. Service was impeccable and the breakfasts very good with a wide range of choices. The pool was one of our favorite spots although in November the water was a little cool.

We enjoyed our stay here. There was a nice atmosphere with plenty of character.
Rooms were spacious, lots of antique furniture and decor. Good bathrooms, big marble baths and nice toiletries. You felt as though you were staying in a royal palace rather than in a hotel.
Nice pool area with big daybeds to lie out on while watching all the kites up in the sky.
Good central location for the sights and shopping in Jaipur.
Only complaint was the quality of breakfast, which in comparison to our other hotels on our trip, was very poor. All the pre-cooked food wasn't kept warm properly and the quality was not good, all tasted awful - even the eggs cooked to order were either vastly over cooked, or vastly undercooked. The dining room looked fantastic though and the outside courtyard looked good, but we were put off eating here by the breakfasts.

This is a very spacious and elegant hotel, and is spotlessly clean. We had a lovely deluxe room, with a great bathroom. Note though that hot water was not always available, so showers etc. can be a chilly experience. Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. Food in the restaurant is excellent, but beer and wine rather expensive. Hotel generally quiet, though you can hear the Imam calling the faithful to prayer.

The tap water has black grit in it, definitely not for drinking (like most accommodation in India). Free mineral water was provided. Laundry was well done, but in wet weather cannot be dried, so ours came back rather damp! This is common in India, only the largest hotels have clothes driers. Free Internet access was provided.

The hotel is well situated for easy access to sights around Jaipur.

This accommodation was recommended by our tour operator, Select Connections in the UK. We were very happy with their choice.

This hotel felt as if you were staying in a hotel in colonial india. The rooms were large and the grounds nicely landscaped. The hotel appeared to be in an architectural style decorated as it would have looked when the country was ruled by the British. My only minor comment was that internet while free was very unreliable and not accessible in our room.

The hotel is quiet, clean, a unique little gem in very busy Jaipur, We loved our room, the decore was fantastic and the bed was ever so comfortable. The main restorant is beautiful and offers good quality food. The pool and the spa are lovely. Really a great place to stay while visiting Jaipur!

I have stayed in lots of hotels but this hotel is simply the best one I have ever been to. So romantic. So special and staff are fabulous. I really would thoroughly recommend. Dinner there is amazing- outside music, eating under the stars is just so special! There is internet access but only in reception- seems to be a India thing that you can not get it in your room which is a pitty!
