“Comfortable hotel in exciting city”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2014

this is a nice hotel with great rooms. we were in 503 and loved the space. Friendly restaurant/bar staff and the food is quite good for all meals. Conveniently located a little ways from the chaos of the city. Felt very safe and enjoyed stay at this very attractive hotel.

We stayed in a lovely room with a four poster bed. The rooms are really beautiful and very clean. The staff are courteous. The provision of free internet was a bonus. We stayed here for two nights and it was a lovely stay. The food was okay and not overly expensive. I did not sleep too well due to the sounds of the city.

Room Tip: Beautiful heritage hotel near to all amenities

We slept and ate there for 2 days and it was the best hotel we've been in in India. It's a heritage hotel, genuine but not old, the decorations, the architecture and the rooms are more than beautiful. The service is attentive and fast, there is free wifi everywhere (a rare treat in India) and the personnel is ready to satisfy every request. We ate in the restaurant on the ground floor (it was a bit too cold to eat outside on the roof terrace) and the food was excellent (they also cooked it without garlic when I asked for it) and good value for money.

Room Tip: Just try to avoid the groundfloor rooms, they are a bit too noisy. All the others are fantastic.

We were upgraded to the royal suite. Which was very generous of them. It was very comfortable. And the staff were welcoming and helpful.

Breakfast is very good here. With an omelette guy tucked in the corner making eggs to order.

The entertainment in the upstairs restaurant was a higher quality than some we have seen. The dancer was particularly talented and obviously enjoyed dancing a lot. And this radiated from her.

It is a short auto ride into the tourist area but the benefit of being slightly further away from the centre is that you do get some quiet.

Small, but intimate, modern but traditionally equipped, with skillfully decorated rooms giving you the feeling of mahardja times. Placed in a quiet corner of this busy town. friendly and helpful staff. The restaurant was not quite the standard of the rest of the hotel.

Room Tip: Try the maharani room.

The hotel was elegant and beautiful with attentive, friendly staff. It as reminiscent of a past era but with the luxury of modern bathrooms! The food was excellent - some of the best we have had in India and the roof top terrace great although chilly at this time of year.

This hotel exudes history and class. Very ornate with beautiful paintings and murals on wall and ceiling. The restaurant is great with good selection of food, the breakfast was enjoyable... and on a hot evening having a light dinner outside near the pool is wonderful.
The rooms are classic with posted beds. Overall an enjoyable experience.
