“Remote and Beautiful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2012

In a woods outside Jaipur is a beautiful religious comples built around a series of pools. There are a number of ancient temples and they follow a path up a hill. Inhabited by monkeys and other wildlife and with colourful murals and beautifully carved stonework this is well worth seeing. It is a 17th century complex.

“This is a MUST SEE.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2012

The Galta Gorge and the Monkey Temple was the highlight of Jaipur. Three levels of sacred pools dedicated to the Monkey God. The healing pools are segregated to women, men and monkey, The sight of thousands sari clad women and turbaned men bathing and relaxing is beyond description.

“monkey place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2012

i really loved the place. I took al local bus to get there which is already quite an experience to take.
When you arrive you are bit overwhelmed because the monkeys are really everywhere and at first it looks a bit scary because you dont know if they will give you a hard time or not.
But they dont. You have big ones, small ones, eating, playing withe each other. The small monkeys climb on the back of the pigs to get a ride. Really funny. you can walk all the way up to the temple which you should really do because the scenery is very nice and you get to see the monkeys everywhere. Also you get a nice view over the city.

“Dont miss this for both the Temples and the Monkeys”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2012

Our driver brought us here on the way into Jaipur after our drive from Agra and it was the highlight of trip to Jaipur.
We wandered through the temples where we recieved a blessing and a garland and then on up to the top where the monkeys grabbed the garlands!!
