What a gem the Adhbhut Hotel in the wonderful town of Amber is! It's hard to know where to start as this beautiful, family-run hotel ticks every box and more! The Singh Rathore family have built this hotel over 10 years on the site of an ancient haveli and have done everything, including rebuilding on the original foundations to recreate the wonderful ambience of the original home. My room has an enormous window seat overlooking the ancient city walls and town streets and I spent many hours here watching the green bee eater birds, monkeys and cows. My room was spotlessly clean, had C and TV and an adjoining beautiful bathroom with shower. Amber is such a sacred town with 165 Hindu temples, 6 Jain temples and Muslim mosque and there are magnificent ruins and architecture everywhere including the awe-inspiring Amber Fort with a procession of painted elephants taking tourists to the fort. I would highly recommend staying in Amber at the Adhbhut Hotel to really enjoy this lovely part of the world and the fort is just a short walk from the hotel. Mrs. Singh Rathore's home cooked dinner every night was an absolute highlight of this hotel as were our chats about life and her passion, cooking. I was spoilt constantly! The complimentary breakfast was also massive with a continental breakfast + eggs + traditional Indian dishes if I wanted. They asked what my favourite food was when I arrived...it is yoghurt...and a bowl was always included with my dinner...along with a different sweet every night. The rice pudding flavoured with cardamom, saffron and raisins was delicious. Mr & Mrs Singh Rathore senior were also a delight. This gentle, intelligent family made this hotel very very special...in fact the name 'adhbhut' means out of the ordinary and that's exactly what this hotel provides. Dushyant, the ever attentive staff member also made sure everything was perfect. A lovely young man. I would love to come back here one day and highly recommend everyone to choose this hotel for a very memorable experience. They even have a darling Labrador, Blackie, who was a real sweetheart. Thank you everyone for making my 4 days here such a delight and Nagendra Singh Rathore for taking the time to take me on a walk to show me some of the hidden delights of this magical city. Our discussions on history, religion and life where also a lovely insight into Indian life. Oh and one more thing...my bed and pillows were the most comfortable I have experienced in India. I slept so soundly. This accommodation really is faultless. Thank you.
All rooms have lovely views either to the fort or the township and city walls.
