I first stayed at the Krishna Palace in 2010 and found it charming - a family run guesthouse, reasonably priced with good service. I stayed again in March this year and found that they are undergoing an ambitious expansion, which is unlikely to be finished until 2014 although room prices have already risen. This means that the rooms facing the back look on to a building site, which is noisy during the day. My room, which faced the building work, was small, dark and stuffy, and although it did have a bathroom it was not worth the 950 rupees plus tax (which I have never been charged anywhere else in India) that was charged. This was reduced slightly when I complained. The restaurant service is erratic and the location is also not ideal as it is a long way outside the pink city. There are better places to stay in Jaipur for the same money or less.
