“Authentic !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2013

Authentic food . Bang for Buck. Expect a waiting period of 20 minutes round the clock.
Finding a car park is a real pain , suggest to park the car below the flyover right after the fuel pump. It should be a 20 min walk from there , else you can jump into a cab.

I have been here with my wife on many Saturday morning breakfasts , and some weekday evening. The food is awesome, all items on the menu are a must try. The service is express & your expected to finish your food and leave , to make way for the people waiting.

Filter coffee is very good .

“Best South Indian food in Mumbai”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2013

Cafe Madras has retained its originality in this commercially exploited place. Even today if you go at anytime of the day you will find people frolicking at this place. You can come here have a quick meal and run away.. The food is just awesome with all the chutney and rasam's and sambhars just truly delicious. Just come here once and you will be a fan for a life time

“Simply fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2013

Etched in a corner at matunga, this age old cafe is just fabulous. It serves the most amazing, soft and delicious upma pudi, bisibille bhat and appams. The coffee at the fag end of the meal is the icing on the cake. Pocket friendly place to hang out with friends with authentic tastes that will surely leave a mark in your minds. The ambience is bad, couple unfriendly and staff is too busy...But who cares? The food makes up for all the fallacies. Service is brisk... A must visit for all mumbaikars and tourists.

“Time stands still - so does the taste”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2013

One of the best places to drop in just when you are craving for something that is authentic south-indian .. don't expect to enjoy your meal at liesure bcos there is usually a large waiting and most of the fellow visitors are there for a quick bite ... but all in all worth the little discomfort ... after all sometimes you cant really enjoy it if its all too perfect..

“Terrible”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2013 via mobile

Went to this place after few months. The butter idli was uncooked. The masala in the Dosa was dry and tasted stale. The sambar quantity has been reduced to few spoons for a Dosa or idly. The chutney had less of coconut and more of lentil. Brought this to the notice of the youngster at the counter, seemingly one of the owner. He was arrogant and diffident like conveying that nothing was wrong with their fare. Will not repeat the unpleasentness. Go to Anand Bhawan in the vicinity.
