Recently visited here with a few friends and I have to say, it's no longer what it used to be... Most of the dishes were unavailable even though we were there at 1 am. BTW, this place is known to be open till the wee hours, which is probably the only place in Mumbai which is open so late for street food.
For tourists - Don't look at hygiene and cleanliness. If you feel strong and upto it, you must try the food.
The Bheja masala fry is good
The chicken gravy dishes are nice, I had the chicken dishes for the 1st time here... it's known for the mutton dishes.
The don't forget the roomali roti's and coke to gulp down all the oily street food
The crowd still throngs this place, more likely to see more BMW's here than anywhere else
Party animals come here after their night out...
Unlikely to get any mutton dishes available after 12.00 am
Service is slow - People taking the order take ages to get to your table but once you have ordered, the food comes in a jiffy.
Over Priced - I know everything in Mumbai is become expensive but the prices here have hit the roof, can't imagine paying >100 rupees for Seekh Kababs
Quantity- Shrunk to unbelieveable levels, does not even fill up a quarter plate...
Inflation has surely hit here... with the size of the Menu having shrunk to 'micro'...
Overall, if you are in Mumbai, this is a must visit for the street food... but for locals, this is a place strictly for emergencies.
