“Bad service, expensive stay for a dingy room”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2012 via mobile

My husband and I stayed one night in the "executive" room. We paid 2750 rupies for the room with AC and private bathroom. The location is nice and the room was decently clean, but that was it. The bathroom was a view from hell, but again, at least "clean". Broken tiles, slippery floor, dim lights, couldn't even swing a cat there, neither in the room. The AC did work, but it probably belonged to some museum nearby, since it was soooooo old and noisy! And the service... We had arranged a city tour for the following day and they said it could be either at 9 or 10 AM, and that it would be just the 2 of us. We arranged it for 9 o'clock and it was 9:30 when the driver still hadn't showed up, they kept saying all the time "driver is coming, driver is coming " all the way since 9 o'clock, then they said "places are closed at 9, it's better at 10", so we got the terrible feeling we would have to wait until 10 AND that theyd put us in another car with other people. They made us wait with our luggage in the place next door, where there was an Internet cafe. While we were 30min already waiting for the tour, my husband asked if he could use the Internet and although we were waiting, he not only charged us but (10 min) but also wanted our passport to register the use of the Internet, can you believe it? As if we were criminals.... That was the last straw, we wanted our money from the tour back and saw that it would end up in disaster anyways. Reluctantly , they returned our money but were very rude... So we just left and we will definitely not come back again, ever! Please, those rooms are NOT worth all that money, 1,200 would still be too much! Blargh!!!

Unreasonably expensive and not so clean in a neighbourhood that our guide told us to stay away from. I am pretty sure my girlfriend got bitten by lice in the bed, but the staff refused to admit that the hotel could have a lice problem.

The location seem to be rather good, close of some attractions of Mumbai, but..

OK, the staff was friendly and tried help, but the hotel was just poor.
There was somekind renovations/repairs going on and they were working till late.

Also the tidyness of the room was really poor. Room was more like closet than a room.
Bed was awful, too short for me (I'm normal european man).
Room was also very humid, all myb clothes were soaked after a while.

I went in June'12 with my family & the room we booked was Double Bed AC room. The room size was very small, no space for movement, lobby, toilets dirty. Overall experience was very bad. Rooms & food are very costly. Will never go there again.

Room Tip: No room is good

First, the location is great - it's as close to the CST as it can get, and that was the main reason why I chose the hotel. But the rooms - oh my! I stayed in a single room with fan, which had space for a bed, a chair and a tv. Barely any place for the luggage, and the walls were not reaching to the ceiling so all the noises from other guests were as audible as if you were staying in a dorm. (And Indian men are apparently incapable to keep their bodily sounds to themselves). Plus, I could here all 3 TVs that were turned on in my floor. The shared bathrooms were a mess. They do have wifi (for a fee) available.

Single Room Shared Bath is a very basic room chargeable @ INR 600 incl of taxes for a very budget traveller. In this part of Mumbai the shared dormitories cost INR 400 per person but we provide a separte room altogether with telephone, table, chair, televesion, room service etc for only INR 600. If the guest is looking for a better room they can always try our higher category rooms with ensuite (private bath) which is again much cheaper as compared to other hotels in our category.
But still we have renovated a few rooms in the above category and are still in the process.

This place is right on top of Crawford market, like 500 feet. I stayed on the 2nd floor and and had A/C. There is a good restaurant next store, upstairs for dinner. The train station is 1 mile away and there is a decent movie theater about the same distance but in the opposite direction. More things are about 80 rupees cab drive away. The rooms are bare, but safe. Laundry is very cheap.

Room Tip: Lower floors are better.

Ok let's get one thing straight this hotel is nowhere near a 5 star but you get what you pay for right? So what I mostly look for in a hotel is service, and location as I alway have a busy agenda wherever I go. The main reason I gave this hotel a great rating was the outstanding service I recieved from checking to check out. Icoukd walk to tourist spots and sightseeing . There were helpful and attentive staff and helped me every need to explore Mumbai .

Thanks again guys!!??
