I am from konkan. Its the land of my ancestors. It hurts to see the beautiful coastline getting littered by plastic. mostly thrown by unmindful visitors. The sea is our God. and we are throwing trash in it. Visit murud, diveagar, alibaugh, karde, devrukh, you will notice plastic bottles, plastic straws, plastic bags, chocolate wrappers, wafer packets and loads of them in the sand. The local authorities should collect heavy tax from visitors and use it to clean the beaches. Same is case with all tourist destinations in our country. People spit, throw waste, litter happily. We are as happy as a pig in dirt. I am ashamed. We are patriotic only on paper. we don't respect our motherland. We make her dirty and put all the blame on the government. We are robbing nature and giving nothing back. I remember the clean mumbai in seventies. I was very young then. Now the entire city is a ' gutter'. We don't deserve to be citizens of a great nation like ours. Please take a vow not to litter. Take back your trash with you. and dispose it responsibly. Teach your children the same.
