So ,we make mistakes..thats not the problem..the problem is covering up for it in an extremely shoddy and 'unhospitable' manner
This was our second experiance at Home Town Cafe Andheri, the first one being quite an enjoyable one. However my husband was in for a shock when a 'Jain Fried Rice' ordered by hime came with fried eggs in it.
We realized these things happen, and called the attendant to show the issue and replace the dish. Now this is where the ordeal started!!
Firstly the fellow refused to accept his mistake and claimed it was "tofu". This obviously infuriated us..and we demanded that we need to speak to the manager.
We were waiting in the outside area..and after 15 minutes of waiting when no one turned up , we called the same attendant again (all this while we were seeing the serving staff exchange whispers amongst themselves) on being called again the fellow got one lost looking waiter and introduced him to us as the manager. One look at him and we knew they were lying. We said that we refuse to believe that this guy is the manager , so do get us to speak to the manager. Again all of them dissapeared inside , and when no one came for some time, i walked in and obviously in a very angry manner asked for either the manager or the chef to be called. Some other waiter then introduces himself as the assistant manager..yet another lie. Finally we created a scene enough for them to confess that they were lying and the manager is outside.
We were appalled at this kind of shoddiness and teh extent to which the team thought that they could fool the customers....There really was not much that we could do expect swear that we will never be back again to this place.
The problem i repeat is not the mistake, but the manner in which the mistake was handled.
I work with the media industry and we often have our team meetings and dinners there...if the hotel authorities know the kind of bad word of mouth/ and cancellations of events that we have given them , they sure would be worried..but something tells me that based on my experience there , probably the management too would not care much.
Never Ever Again
