Went there for our anniversary dinner, thanks to their hostess 'Sneha' (watch out, she does not deserve to be in the service industry for her rude, unwelcoming & poor attitude) she managed to turn us off completely & we simply walked off. Just before entering the restaurant since we had made no reservations, apparently when we asked her if we could get a seating by the large beautiful windows with the wonderful view, her response was no space available, we asked if she could help looking around but her response was "why don't you go and look around and if you find a seat you can come back inform us" & she walked away to chat with her colleagues at the POS system. Wow! a restaurant where an average dish is about 500 bucks++ & a ticket size per family could be easily 5 to 6 at least grand are treated like cattle class here at Marriott. Best of all, when walked up to her where she was busy chatting we asked her when could the table be made available, as we are ready to wait & her response was "Why don't you go ahead & ask the guests your selves & see if any one is leaving" We simply walked out. What an attitude, she must be the GM's favourite newbie, to show this attitude.
We have been to this restaurant a couple times & often stay at the Renaissance, usually the staff is very friendly & warm, the ambience is good but i guess over the year they have hired new staff & probably un-trained staff like this hostess.
We asked her that we should like to meet the Restaurant Manager & she said yeah go ahead. The restaurant manager Ravi Ranjan was a old timer, came to us & did recognise us & also apologised profusely to us for her behaviour, but would one in correct senses ever want to eat there for a better evening after being treated like that & that too spend your own hard earned money to ensure her salary. NO..... The best part is she stood at a distance with an attitude with no apologies at all. Wow!
So guys, this is my negative review for this restaurant. But, I guess there are still people like Ravi Ranjan around, who will make you feel welcomed & comfortable, but people such as 'Sneha from Fratelli Fresh @ Renaissance Mumbai, Powai" should be sacked as one bad germ spoils the good crop.
My ratings are based on the previous experiences on ambience, food, value, family with children etc.... Though the service is the most recent & if there was an option below poor, I'd rate that.
