We stayed for one night and had complete sleepless night.
As soon as we entered the hotel for the first time, welcomed with lot of construction noise. There was already another person arguing with the manager for cancellation and refund. When we asked about the noise, the receptionist said the construction is only on the Lobby area and there is no noise in the rooms. We believed him and took a chance. They allowed us early check-in which is nice. The staffs are good.
After a long day of sightseeing and shopping in Mumbai, we reached the hotel around mid-night. We switched on the AC and crashed. At around 3.30 am, we were completely sweating, to find that AC was not running. Just assumed it may be due to power cut and waited for another hour. It was suffocating to stay inside. Finally called the reception to check what is happening. The duty manager replied in cool that the AC is not working for the entire 7th floor and we will have to vacate our rooms and go to another floor to continue sleeping. He also claimed that he knocked on our door to inform us, but we never heard him. He could have called us via room phone or rang the bell, but instead claims he knocked the door!
Anyways, we changed cloth, packed our stuff and vacated the room and moved to 3rd floor, trying to catch up the sleep. It was almost 5 am then. After 6:00 am, we started hearing kids screaming from the opposite room revealing the sound proof quality of the doors and walls. The kids noise continued for long disturbing our sleep. At around 8:00 am, the doorbell rang asking for housekeeping!!! Why on earth on a Sunday morning 8:00 am Housekeeping would want to clean the occupied room? No explanation from the manager as well. They said ‘they will look into it’.
At around 10:00 am, construction noise started again. This time it appeared they were doing floor polishing right above our room. It was like running grinders on your head! Finally we got fed up of all this and checked out. There was no apology, no regret from the managers and reception. They were not even willing to give the invoice. Since we booked through Agoda, we were told to get the invoice from the website! I had to argue to get the invoice print out.
Please stay away from this hotel, at least till the construction is over.
No room is good until the construction is over. 7th floor has AC problems.
