I really Liked this hotel- very very clean and staff were so nice and kind. Also had wifi which was cool. On a street with great restaurants and the location is really handy. The staff seem to care which is nice :-)

We stayed in the chateau windsor for 2 nights- the worst nights of our 4 week roundtrip!!

In the first night we could not sleep, because of the bedclothes, scratching us. But in the mornig we found a small animal-a BEDBUG.
First we didn't know these booldsucking animals-internet helped us to identify them.
In the evening we found another creature.

The second night we could not fall asleep at all.

Rooms are situated in a residendtial type building on the Veer Nariman Road, which is centrally located. An elevator takes you
from the entrance up to the reception on the 5th floor. Staff friendly and serviceminded. Possibility to have breakfast on the
rooftop terasse which is nice early in the morning.
Room (superior) can be classified as a deluxe backpacker room meaning a noisy aircondition, old furniture and fittings. Bathroom with ventilator sounding like jet engine. Good cleaning.
Some outside repairs going on (15 to 18.March.2009) but not disturbing.
As we stayed on the second floor a small nuisance was that one had to take the lift to the reception on the fifth floor every time when depositing the key etc.
The facilities cannot be considered nice, however if you need a clean room with basic amenities its ok.
If you need a cold drink/snack the Ambassador hotel is right next door.

Chateau Windsor may not be much to look at on the outside, but my room (superior) was large, clean, and very well maintained. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the staff could not have been more obliging.
I fell ill while staying at the Chateau Windsor and was touched to see how concerned the staff members were about my health. After the doctor came, they were happy to run to the pharmacy for me to pick up medications. They even helped me get to the ATM next door. They went out of their way to help me.
Chateau Windsor is only a few steps from Marine Drive, a great place for an evening stroll and to watch the sunset., and about a 30 minute walk to the Gateway of India.
