“The Gate Of Glory”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 6, 2012

Very very picturesque structure. Equal beauty from near and distant view. From this point boating on the sea is an added advantage. Please visit on the 2nd part of the day because the sunlight falls on the gate by afternoon. But for viewing Taj hotel ( adjacent to ), sunlight falls in the morning. It is a one day combined tour for Elephanta caves, Gateway of India & Taj Hotel. There are so many travel operators operating their offices at Gateway Of India, so don't plan your Mumbai Darshan before reaching Gateway of India physically. It is not only a must see in mumbai but also should be a first see in Mumbai.

“historical monument”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 5, 2012

It was a short journey from our accommodation at churchgate. It was crowded when I went for an evening visit, and had to visit again in the morning during weekdays, a good place and a marvelous monument.

“A hub of activity”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2012

So many people milling around carrying out their business of selling, repairing shoes, weighing with household scales, having henna tatoos. Right next to the Old and New Taj Hotels. A fabulous site. Have your taken with the Gateway right behind you.

“Beautiful :)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2012

Tottally awesome. Incredibly busy day & night ! In the evening locals seem to come to the site to while away their cares....across the road from The Taj Palace Hotel...you can take a ride on highly decorated horse & carriage. But be warned, they rip you off ! I was also told there is some petition going as they ill treat the horses :(
