I was extremely disappointed when I checked in. The lobby seemed adequate, but the rooms were disgusting! The problem is that this hotel is advertised on multiple websites with pictures of comfy rooms and an upscale image and a 5 star rating. NOT SO. It should be downgraded to a 2 star. I looked at 4 rooms on the 4th floor all were musty smelling, black mold growing in the bathroom shower tiles and cracks in the walls. There were 2 bottles of supposedly fresh water sitting on the fridge, but after closer inspection I noticed the bottles had the labels removed and the seals were broken! So, basically refilled with…tap water? I saw these same type bottles in all the rooms. They showed me something on the 6th floor which they said had been renovated due to a fire. Ahh…now here is where the internet pictures may have come from? Perhaps…the foyer on the 6th floor was like stepping into a different hotel…but these rooms were still lacking in 5 star qualities, needing a repainting, dressers having nicks in them, etc. Lastly, the pool area, advertised as an evening picture surrounded with lounge chairs and an inviting pool…what it really had was 3 chairs, and the water had a dark green brown color to it (Obviously needing Chlorine). The manager did admit that they were planning renovation, and the staff was nice. They even wrote a letter for me to take to my travel agent for my refund. I ended up checking into the ITC Grand Maratha Sheraton which is defiantly a 5 star!
