We stayed here for six nights in May - hubby was on a work trip so I went along for the sunshine and to enjoy the luxury.
We upgraded to the Club Floor which was excellent value. Their cocktail hour was from 6.00pm for 2 hours and almost every night, we ate the substantial canopes and sipped on wine (including sparkling wine!) and skipped dinner - we didn't need to eat much in the heat. In addition, throughout the day, you could take soft drinks from the Club Lounge - so there was never a worry about being ripped off by the hotel when all you want to do is keep hydrated. The Club lounge breakfast was also good - a couple of hot options and plenty of toasts, breads, yoghurts, fruits etc.
The room was very comfortable - as you would expect in a business hotel. The bathroom was good - separate shower to the bath - and nicely laid out.
The gym was also excellent. Plenty of equipment and you never had to wait to use the cardio machines - there were plenty. There was also a gym instructor in the gym too - a nice touch - and they provide earphones.
The pool area could be lovely - if you could get rid of the awful birds that seem to swarm round the place. I got bird poop on a dress even though the dress was placed under the umbrella. The pool is large but you do need to constantly move around to catch the sun rays because of the changing shade. The swimming pool attendants also provided you with plenty of water.
So why haven't I given it five stars? Well, it wasn't perfect - and some of it just seemed bad housekeeping.
1) The toilets for the swimming pool were not properly stocked or cleaned - a couple of times there was no toilet paper and nothing to wipe your hands on after washing them. When I complained, I was told that they were "out of order" - so why wasn't there a sign indicating this?
2) Turndown service - lovely - but why do they come so early? Usually around 6.00pm and frequently we hadn't showered - or we were in the gym and showering later. It needs to be not earlier than 7.00pm. Because you do need turn down service as water from the shower tends to leak everywhere and not drain as properly or as quickly as you might expect
3) No cotton wool in the bathroom!! Hello!!? Women need cotton wool to remove make up! Surely this is an easy fix.
4) Building (noisy) works by the swimming pool (which is on the ground floor).
Overall, nice hotel. The spa is also worth a mention - and you get 25% off if you go early in the morning. There is also a linked beauty salon (waxing, hair blowdrys etc) in the shopping complex - and you can charge expenses from the salon to the hotel.
We will stay here again and maybe next time, things will be fixed, the building works round the swimming pool will be finished and we can give it a 5 star review!
Upgrade to the Club Floor. It is excellent value.
