If you are from a city known for its gardens, like Delhi, to which I belong, a visit to Mumbai's Hanging Gardens could be a rather underwhelming experience. When you reach the place after the slightly steep drive up the Malabar Hill, you might feel that the trek really wasn't worth it. The landscaping was good but flowers were not in bloom. Of course, I was visiting in peak summer so a garden in full glory shouldn't be expected. That said, the garden is nothing out of the ordinary, despite the enticing name. The only saving grace is the view of Mumbai's skyline and the sea. Also, do visit the shoe house next to the garden, especially if you are traveling with children. To sum up, you wouldn't miss much if you decide to give this place a miss.
