“Nice but nothing great”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2014

If you are from a city known for its gardens, like Delhi, to which I belong, a visit to Mumbai's Hanging Gardens could be a rather underwhelming experience. When you reach the place after the slightly steep drive up the Malabar Hill, you might feel that the trek really wasn't worth it. The landscaping was good but flowers were not in bloom. Of course, I was visiting in peak summer so a garden in full glory shouldn't be expected. That said, the garden is nothing out of the ordinary, despite the enticing name. The only saving grace is the view of Mumbai's skyline and the sea. Also, do visit the shoe house next to the garden, especially if you are traveling with children. To sum up, you wouldn't miss much if you decide to give this place a miss.

Go for walks or go and see the sunset view from there but don't forget to take your children to visit the Old Woman's Shoe..

“Serene Spot”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2014

Hanging Gardens is a popular tourist destination in Mumbai. This terraced garden was built in 1880 and later renovated in 1921. The Hanging Gardens is dedicated to its barrister Pherozeshah Mehta & also known as Pherozeshah Mehta Garden. This renowned garden located on the Malabar Hills is known for its splendid green vegetation and animal shaped hedges, which is an interesting sight for anyone who visits this spot.

The garden is maintained perfectly. The 'Old woman's shoe' or the 'Boot House' is completely made from stone, which is also a very interesting feature and a favourite among children. One can spend some good time exploring the natural beauty of these terraced gardens along with family and friends. Perfect place for early morning jogs and yoga as the air is clean and fresh.

“Don't expect too much”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2014

The name of this attraction makes it sound way more interesting than it actually is. It is a nice wll laid out garden in the middle of Mumbai.

If you like gardens then go there. If you don't I would suggest that there are far more interesting things in this vibrant city to see
