“Great Location, Average Hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2009

Its bang on the main SV Road. The location is great but the overall experience is very average. The rooms are small and the service is quite bad

Rooms and bathrooms are small (Just enough for one person) but has a king size bed. The hotel has a very food Chinese restaurant and an Irish Pub (both worth trying). The staff were helpful. This property is very close t BKC ( just 10 Min drive in morning 9 AM)

I recently stayed in this hotel to spend an extended weekend and to attend some functions in Bombay. At the outset, I feel sorry to say that this hotel was one of my worst experiences in last 3 years, ever since I started exploring India in post-college (earning :-P) era.

Summary:
Good points: Location (Central to Bandra and Juhu and close to domestic airport, linking road)
Bad points: Overall property, infrastrucutre, maintenance, size of rooms, size of bathroom, overall design, quality of food, value for money

Review:
I had booked this hotel as I had limited my budget to Rs.5K per night and was happy to get this location within my budget. My impression got better when an Innova car came to pick me up at the airport. But, unfortunately, initial impressions didn't last much long and were shattered once I reached the hotel. Property was pathetically maintained from outside and inside, room was just slightly bigger than a good-sized bathroom, the television set looked 25 years older and I discovered a new TV brand which I had never ever heard of in my entire life - remote was functioning on and off. Thankfully, bathroom was clean with hot water and air conditioning was working fine so had a good sleep after taking bath. Another disaster was break-fast - infrastructure of the restaurant, quality of food, service levels were terrible.
Overall, it wasn't a plesant stay and I completely regret my decision to select this hotel.

I stayed in Ramee Khar for 7 nights.

They offer complimentary airport transfer, using Toyota Innova for the transfer, the transport is well kept and clean. When entered the hotel, the staff welcome me with their smile.....

Room- Good size, clean, bright and comfortable.
Bathroom - with bathtub, and it is clean
Food - Excellent, breakfast spread although is not many, but all are delicious.
Location - Near to the airport and some famous pub like H2O (walking distance only)
Outlets - The irish pub is good.

The only negative point is the WiFi, it was not working during my entire stay. So, I have to use the PC at the lobby and it is chargeable.......

I stayed twice at this hotel. For about 68 euros I got : pickup at the airport, a very decent small room (301) with all mod cons (modern tv and dvd player, air con, safe, etc.) and a badly designed but clean bathroom, breakfast (just OK, and in a dark pub) and a lift to the airport. I ate in the chinese-indian restaurant which was fine as well. The staff was helpful and checking in and out was done smoothly.
If I was talking of anywhere else than big Indian cities, there would be nothing to rave about. But compared to my other hotel experiences travelling for business in India it is some kind of a miracle,

Bear in mind I have not stayed anywhere else in Mumbai, but after travels in South India this was an expensive disappointment.

We booked through the reservation service on arrival at Mumbai domestic airport - a very efficient service but it gave little opportunity to shop around or bargain over rates. I wanted to stay in Bandra to see the "new India" after the rural south, but I don't think this is what we got - still had to get an auto to get anywhere of note, immediate area was not very nice or very modern.

The rooms were comfortable & the staff friendly, but the "Irish pub" downstairs was noisy & a bit strange for breakfast the next day. We didn't try the restaurant, breakfast was rather basic though.

This is a small but really nice hotel, well furnished.. very speedy service and friendly staff. Rooms are cosy, but the beds are huge. Buffet breakfast offered a good selection. I have stayed here many times (twice in the same room), It was always nice to return to this hotel.

  • Liked — Huge Beds and great service
  • Disliked — noisy bombay traffic
  • Tips/Secrets — make sure you keep their phone number on you, when waiting for collection from airport
