“Excellent location, clean spacious rooms, good choice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2014

Very nice location, clean rooms and spacious. Value for money and very good for business purposes. Breakfast is ok - ideally could add a few more things but ok. Staff very helpful and polite, overall worth staying especially for business trip.

The hotel is fantastic value for the price in a part of Mumbai that I adore. Rooms are clean and tastefully done up, road noise isn't as much as some other reviews claim (We stayed in 203, road facing). Breakfast was complimentary but we never had breakfast at the hotel so cant comment on that. Only issue, and its a big one, is that the commode didn't have a spraying jet attached to it or even a hand operated spray gun on the side. Just a tumbler. Its an elementary bathroom fixture but somehow it was overlooked altogether. Disappointing. I've cut 2 stars only for this Else the staff was polite, the beds were comfortable and the ac worked well.

I had such high expectations from this place due to its prestigious past, and jaw dropping location. All my expectations were shattered little by little with each passing day.
Facts:
Terrible maintenance of the property- room is moldy, walls are chipped, water leakage
constant noise- hotel of this caliber should have taken precautions for noise control, this aspect made me feel like I am in in some 2 star hotel- where there is no noise reduction measures taken for the city noise.

Furthermore, think they missed the memo of why all hotels have carpets in the hallway- it doesn't take a genius to figure out the noise hardwood flooring can create outside the rooms whenever someone walks by. So disturbing because the staff constantly kept walking with their shoes with heels tapping all over the hardwood floor in the odd hours of the night and even during my jet-lagged nap hours.

Terrible stay, waste of money because you don't even get half the comfort you pay for.

Strategically located near marine drive, Ambassador hotel has the perfect location going for it. I stayed here on a vacation, and had a pleasant stay here. My only grouse was I had informed the hotel beforehand to have my room ready as I was going to reach there by 2:00 PM. However it took them additional 45 minutes after I had reached to get the room ready, which left a sour taste. But the room in itself with a partial view of sea and stadium, was comfortable and functional (Executive Room) though it does need a refurbishment specially the TV sets. I found the staff to be courteous all across. I tried their buffet lunch & breakfast, and found it to be delicious, though limited in variety. I would definitely stay here again,

Room Tip: Corner rooms at high floors with partial sea view

It's one of the oldest hotels. Even though the rooms are refurbished, it's seen in the bathrooms and furniture that the place is old. But it's walkable distance to any offices at the Nariman point. Good service in terms of booking cabs as well as check in. Food is ok. But value for money.

I stayed here for vacation with friends in February 2013.

Positives
• The hotel was relatively cheap.
• The location was excellent.
• The rooms were relatively large

Negatives
• The hotel décor is a little old
• The rooms

Would I come here again?
I would probably want something a little better, but it is a good option for Mumbai if you want something cheap

Its a old hotel may be dated back to 70s. It got a superb location advantage right opposite to Brabourne Stadium and a stones throw from marine drive & Churchgate station. The room size is compact with actually no space left incase you want to accommodate an extra bed. They still have the old TV sets with dim lighting which makes the room dark. The toileteries are very old and need an immediate upgrade to the latest industry standards. Breakfast is ok with a mix of continental and Indian cuisine. The location takes away all the negatives. Overall a good stay.

Room Tip: Corner rooms are quite large & offers a good view
