“Bombay's Best Mutton Biryani at NH1”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

NH1 has great food, good service and offers good value for money for office goers and to families in the neighbourhood of Chakala.
The taste of the food has been consistent over the past 6 years that I have been visiting it. The mutton biryani is really good, not very spicy and meat is tender. Not oily. You can eat a lot of it.
The other dishes tried there are the Twin Pepper Lamb, mini meals like Kabab lunch, parathas etc etc for smaller working lunch portions.
It does have great service from the staff especially the steward Hisab.
Valet parking is available.

“Good food for your money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2013

Try thai out here. More or less would match your expectation. And its good too. But funny that they don't got no chopsticks. The starters do well. They have a bar but I am not a booze man. The drink opinion you gotta take it from elsewhere. Decent food and decent service. The atmosphere could do with a bit more ac. Valet parking on. As it is the only decent economical joint in the radius there might be some crowd. You would like the food out here and its worth a try.

“Very decent Punjabi (north Indian) food option in Mumbai”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2013

I was here for dinner on 21 March - we had vegetarian food. The prices are decent (net 500/head for a full meal incl starters). The hygiene was okay. The taste was quite good. The quantities are decent enough as well. It is definitely recommended if you have the budget.

Why 4 and not 5?
The place is quite busy - so gets a bit cramped and the parking options are not really there (its a small 2 lane road and you can park just opposite IF you're lucky). When we went we were lucky to get both parking and seating (there was a sizeable 20+ contingent from a nearby office)

“good but they need to focus on hygiene a bit more”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2013

The only reason iam giving this restaurant an average rating is because I have had 1 or 2 stray incidents of a rat invading the place and a hair appearing in food once. Though these were exceptions and not the norm iam a stickler forhygiiene therefore the average rating. Now for the positive part, the food is good especilly the chicken banjara starter that I absolutely dig. For the main course their chicken ambarsariya and fish curry are quite good. I like the dim lighting and ambience though the tables are too closely stacked. There is usually a small waiting period which only goes to prove that the restaurant is popular and buzzing with activity.

“yummy food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2012

this is the place to have true punjabi food. surprisingly the veg food over here taststes better than the non-vegetarian food. the location is good on chakala signal, surrounding is good office space so it remains always full. the prices are fair and affordable. delicious food. only one watchout, please book your seats early as the place is not so big and always remain crowded during peak hours.
