“Hidden gem!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2013

Really awesome Mangalorean food (Bombay duck, Masala fried fish, clams, neer dosa) and decent liquor options - the portions were good and service was quick and efficient.

“Over-Hyped”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed December 22, 2012 via mobile

After reading the positive reviews, I visited the restaurant and was not at all impressed with the food quality. To begin with all menu items were extremely over priced, secondly our order for two different fish curries yielded two similar fish curries with just the change in the type of fish. The fish curries were in no way near to Malwani or Goan style, but just tomato sauce boiled with a couple of spices.

I would prefer Mahesh Lunch Home over Apoorva. Not recommended at all.

“First dinner in India - no regrets”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2012

Apoorva was our first experience with Indian food in India and we didn't regret. The fish curry was fresh and tasty and naan there is good also. The place itself has nothing special, we found it very Indian style: simple, tasty food and cheap.
And, better of all: we didn't feel any belly effects and the place seemed to us clean enough. The service is also good, They'll try to help you even when the waiter doesn't know how to speak english.

“Hard to find but well worth it when you do find it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2012

A bunch of us went to Apoorva on a local holiday and this was the first best thing to happen. The usually super congested area where the restaurant is located was deserted and there was no struggling with a long wait to get in which is usually the case. The decor as expected was average or even below average but we were there for the food and not the ambience. We ordered appams, cumin potatoes and the prawn curry. All three dishes were delicious and finger licking good. Friends who have visited this restaurant say that they have never eaten anything there that wasnt mouth watering. Our bill was laughable and embarrassing, we paid all of $ 10 for three people including bottled water and soft drinks.
