3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 20, 2013

We visited Mysore for a weekend and stayed at hotel Paradise in Mysore. Most of the attractions as well as market are near from the hotel.Economy hotel with decent service, we are likely to consider it for the future trip(s) to Mysore.

At first it seems like a great place for the money and the good location. But the staff has poor knowledge of its own policies. Most rooms bathtubs are broken. And the "visitor policy" includes no male visors for female guests and vice versa. The place seems to be run by skewed moralist. With flexible rules depending on the mood of the high handed illiterate manager. Or maybe he wasn't the real manager.
Ps-Real manager take note.
Only plus here was its Masala dosas.
Had to cancel the stay after half hour in the room to stay in better suites close by. Luckily money was refunded after creating a scene in the lobby.
Consider this place if u r seriously short of vacation money and want to stay near a good location and don't mind getting a short handed treatment.
Good luck !!

Dear Guest,
With due respect to your review posted, we have to be honest and clear on our policies, one of which makes it mandatory for any Single Lady Guests or Gents to meet their counter parts for any discussion only at the lobby level of the hotel. This is a practice followed by any hotel worldwide. We are not Skewed moralists, but aware of the current scenario of Unwanted elements spoiling the reputation of our hotel which is highly regarded for being a Family hotel with values and a long tradition to make our guests feel at home. We are sorry if you have been hurt by this sentiment, but do give us a chance to be clear on our policies.

Stayed here on two occasions - once in Oct 2008 and then recently in Nov 2012.

Location wise, it is not very suitable for tourists especially if you are not with your own vehicle. Rooms are clean but can do with a bit of upgrade on upholstery and interiors (feels old).

Staff is friendly and room service is prompt. Has a pure Veg restaurant attached. Food is good and reasonably priced.

Overall, does not seem value for money.

Dasaprakash Group has this 'luxury' tag attached to this hotel. The hotel is located in one of the quietest and nicest suburbs of Mysore. Not very good if you want to be walking around the city centre etc. In Mysore, distances do not matter a lot. So, if you want to just get a feel of the city and stay in a nice quiet place, Dasaprakash Paradise is an excellent option.
The rooms are large- great air circulation, light etc.
Most of the times of the year, you do not need the airconditioner. Perhaps from mid or end Feb to May or June the aircon may be needed.
The hotel has one restaurant- a typical Udipi vegetarian hotel. Good and clean food at reasonable prices.
For a family, with no agenda except to spend a quiet time, this hotel is great.
However, if you are wanting to be constantly going somewhere then you are better off staying at the city centre.
This hotel has old world charm with courteous service, good veg food and a quiet suburb where it is located.
It is very close to the prime residential localities of Vontikoppal / VV Mohalla etc.

Room Tip: Ask for the rooms facing the city. Not the road side.

We had visited Mysore recently and came down to Dasaprakash Paradise and had our Sunday afternoon lunch here. I must say that the food was tasty and the portion size was also decent.
We had their special thali meals which included Pooris, Rice, curries, Sambhar, thick curd, and lot of rice. The best was the bisi-bele bhath which was really good. We also ordered Soups and a starter which were tasty.

The service was good and they did not take too long to serve the food. The restaurant itself is really big so you wont have to worry about too much crowd. Overall, I would recommend this place for lunch / dinner for pure vegetarians. It is indeed value for money.

Me and my wife had been here to have our lunch, on the way back to Bangalore. We stumbled on this when we were actually looking for Hotel Dasprakash which was near the central bus stand. It is in a residential location and we found it difficult to locate this.

Hotel is very big and has the old architecture, unlike the newly built hotels. We wanted a simple lunch. It is not pricey. When we glanced the menu card, we noticed their 'word of caution' that it took 30 mins for food delivery from the time of order. However, we were pleasantly surprised when we got the starter within 10 minutes. We had ordered vegetable fries and it was served hot and was really crispy. Unlike some hotels, the soup was made of tomato puree and almost no artificial colouring agents and other artificial ingredients. Main dish was also very good. Serving staff was quite cordial and not grumpy. A very good vegetarian hotel.
