We went to this hotel last December. It was a good choice after all, even if they required us to pay the full amount in advance. At the reception they gave us a kit containing all the necessary for men and women. Our room was very cleaned and with air conditioning. The hotel also has a popular and crowded restaurant inside and this is causes a lot of noise almost around the clock. The guests of the hotel have breakfast in the restaurant area and the peculiar thing is that each table has a light bulb to light up in order to call the waiter. When we had dinner there, the evening we arrived, the restaurant was closing and they literally switched off our lights while we were still eating. In the overall we would reccommend this hotel to other western guests but not to those people who appreciate the Indian atmosphere because this is a crowded, and rather impersonal environment.

We stayed 1 night at Parklane Hotel Mysore in June 2012. We were looking at budget options to stay and booked this hotel based on the Tripadvisor ratings.

The location of the hotel is ideal - its very close to the Mysore Palace. The rooms are clean and are great value for money. There is a small pool on the top floor and its a good idea to relax after a day of sightseeing. The food in the restaurant was also good if you stick to the normal Indian cuisine (Chinese at best is avoidable).

We booked 3 rooms for our group in this hotel based on the strength of the reviews here. As many others have already said, this is a clean, comfortable place to stay, especially for the price range. We stayed in the basic "luxury rooms", and those were just fine. The booking was made through their web site. No deposit was paid and they confirmed the reservation promptly via email.

Wi-fi is available for a fee, but there was no public computer to check your email etc. We were directed to a nearby Internet cafe. Not a problem for us - jut something to note. The restaurant was fine, although a bit pricey compared to what you get in the area. Those craving a traditional South Indian vegetarian meal experience may want to check out the DasaPrakash restaurant nearby.

Word of caution - our auto driver from the train station said this was an old hotel, and tried to convince us to stay elsewhere at one of the more expensive 5 star hotels! The rooms were remodeled a few years ago, and we were glad to stay here. Don't know if this type of "advice" is a common scam, but it is something to be aware of.

Overall, an excellent value. It is usually not easy to find such clean and comfortable accommodations in India in this price range.

Hotel is situated at a prime location, walking distance from palace! Hotel rooms are clean and well maintained, bathrooms are clean and beds are tidy. Restaurant is attached, the food was tasty, though at dinner timings it was crowded and the live music was loud, which went on till 10-10.30pm.
Will surely recommend!

The hotel itself was ok but the staff were either indifferent or verging on the rude. I think that they think they are much better than they are- washing was hung up around us as we sat near the pool. As they have no internet service we were sent to the United 21 hotel- much better staff and great bar. Will go to Mysore again but definetly not stay at this hotel.
