“Excellent Temple”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2012

Visited the temple with family, best is to take the 100 rupee tickets along with archana, as you are allowed to go and pray closely, it is always packed and the temple is open till 2pm.
There is enough space to sit down and pray after visiting the goddess. avoid on weekends due to crowd issues.

“I got in, then got out immediately.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2012 via mobile

This place is only good for sightseeing (for me). However the detail is great though. Further notice for non-india tourist: better go inside without guide there. Because there're few people trying to guide you (especially for foreign tourist who knows nothing) and telling you what to do (which i think, we can learn it by following the others), then asking for money afterwards. UNLESS, you really want to get a guide, then go for it.

There are 2 entrance type, get inside for free or pay Rs 20 each. The differences is just the waiting line (which ended up the same), and inside there, you just come and give money (any amount you want) for the temple and get blessing. Since i'm not following the Hindu ritual, it's useless for me. Watching for afar it's a better choice (IF you don't want to get involved in whats inside).

And oh, shoes/ sandals outside. And pay Rs 10.

Have a lovely day there!

“Nice structure of the temples”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2012

Many people, the history of Goddess Chamundeshwari is really historical. Worth a visit, but nothing much more. The devotees really line up to pay their respects.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2012

The temple is great and you will have nice view from top.

do visit in morning times, it may be little colder but you will love the scenery and mountains.

this was the godess to whome king was a diety of.

there are other plenty small temples within it as well.... all were good.

you will also see the chariot outside the temple which were used to carry godess to palace.
