“Good place but lacks maintenance”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2013

We had been to Kabini for a one day hang out from Mysore. The road was top-notch - single lane but broad, clean, low traffic and scenic. The dam is a very beautiful structure about 2 kms long. Unfortunately the guards did not allow us to take the car inside so we parked it outside and walked a kilometer to enjoy its beauty. I really don't know why such a beautiful place is maintained so pathetically. It has almost all qualities to become a great traveler's spot but sadly orphaned out.

A little further to the dam there is a spot where there is bridge over the Kabini river. You will see the locals washing their clothes there. We found it to be a nice spot to wet our feet and play in the water for a while.

There are absolutely no restaurants in the vicinity, no secure place to park your cars for a long time and hardly any sign boards to guide you. So the next time you are planning to visit Kabini be prepared, do your homework, take food and water along and exit the place before 3 in the afternoon.

“Amazing power of nature”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2013

The rushing water through the dam and the beautiful pristine water was a sight. The Gardens are around the corner. This is definitely a great place to see.

“Indian Dragon”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2013

Before you visit this dam please take a look at it on the google map, you will be amazed the back waters resemble dragon shape. Between March-April to September-October you will see two extreme ends of this back water. One absolutely lower level and next completely full. The sight of animals on the other side of the water are just bonus.

“Excellent water flow”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

We family of three went to this dam to watch the water flow.We went all the way from bangalore and we were not dissapointed. The dam was full and it was a treat to watch the flow and you never feel like leaving the spot.In the middle of the nature you nver have dull moment.Taken some photos .It is about 7 km from kushalnagar and there are many homestays and hotels in kushalnagar.Food and water is not available near the spot and better to carry your own food and snacks.Must visit in rainy season
