We stayed in Jungle Inn resorts for a day on 25 Oct 2012. The moment we stepped in to the Double Bedroom (Regular), we wanted to get out of it earliest.
1. Dust all over - I guess rooms were cleaned once in year or decade.
2. Chair in the room, had all the dirt in the world.- Never cleaned.
3. Water in the bathroom - Hot water is available only from 7AM to 10 AM. When you open the tap insects and some white colored like cement came out. If you take 2-3 bath probably you will alergies.
4. Food was pathetic - Rice looked like brought from Govt Societly very poor quality.

Rs3600/- is not worth at all. Not worth to pay even Rs100/- for the room.

Activities
1. Rafting and Rappelling - Not available
2. coracle ride - Not available.
3. Wildlife Tour - You can take your vechicle inside the nagarahole forest. No need to pay Rs400/- per person for them.

I sincerely suggest you look out for other options.

Room Tip: Rooms are pathetic in condition.

I stayed at Jungle Inn ( occupied Double room Regular, Room Number 3 ) for two nights from 12th to 14th September 2012.
The 5 acre property ( so I was told, but it definitely does not appear to be that big ) lies facing the trenched forest of Rajiv Gandhi National Park , across the road on Hunsur - Nagarhole Road.
Room 3 in the old block which is a Double (Regular) room, has a verandah and sit out place, but it does not provide any good view from the verandah and sit out place nor through the windows of the room. The room is very small with a small cupboard on the wall, which would be quite inadequate if you check -in with lots of luggage. The bathroom is not well maintained and looks untidy, that it would make you hesitate to use the scratched and stained toilet seat. The windows have insect screens and it would be better you do not keep the door open after dusk. Basic necessities are itself a luxury in the jungles, so there is no meaning in grumbling. Yet, the people who manage and run such resorts have to consider the guest's need of hot water for bath. There was no hot water falling from the hotwater tap and it fell on deaf ears whenever I mentioned it to the staff . Atleast a reasonable explanation would have been fine, but I was even told that 'somebody' might have closed the hotwater tap from outside. Wonder who is this 'somebody' who is hard-hearted enough to find pleasure in making people take bath in chilling cold water at day break and night. Of course they have Solar heaters installed, and it was a bright sunny day except for occassional spurts of short showers.
Electricity is available only after 6pm and it gets switched off in the morning. Better charge the cells and batteries during that period of time (On day one there was a power failure at about 3.30 am ).
I saw the rooms in new block which are very spacious, tidy and provide good views. They are Double Rooms ( Standard) and the tariff is Rs.2250 per person on twin-sharing basis.
In the jungles, I have lived in caves and in tribal huts; but I didn't have to pay for that, and the experiance itself is worth more than anything you can pay for. Considering what you pay for, Jungle Inn does appear to be over-priced, but the smiling faces that welcome you and the excellent food that they serve made me forget my woes.

Room Tip: Better go for the Standard Double Rooms if you need a truely comfortable stay. The tented cottage lo...

I have been visiting this place off and on from past few years and the staff have always been courteous. As far as the place is concerned it meets all basic needs one can expect near a forest. Rooms are basic, make a good place for a sound sleep, food is very homely.

Imagine going on an adventure trip, with the stay arranged at the edge of the wild, and the place of stay having an enticing name reminiscent of the revered naturalist Jim Corbett himself, and a reputation (at least on the web-site) of tiger-tales shared around the campfire by been-there, seen-it-all wild-life enthusiasts!! Well, the inducement and enticement was just that--glib marketing! An incident amongst many would throw light on a place that was relevant long back when POSSIBLY, long time ago, trained spotters were on the staff, who assiduously kept good liaison with the Forest Wardens, the cook too had tales to add, and enthusiasts shared a simple yet tasty meal around a campfire. We had excitedly got ready to do the jungle safari with first light,at 6 Am, when the Forest Dept opens the gates to the sanctuary. Well… the driver was nowhere to be seen even at 6:10 AM, and when 15 min later he turned up, we could not exit the Inn as the Inn-gates were still padlocked and the watchman had disappeared with the keys. All this, despite good-humored warnings to us from the manager during dinner the previous night that we should be on time. The staff assigned for the Jeep Safari were not able to identify some of the wildlife, the safari caters to no facilitation whatsoever in the form of spotting equipment like binoculars, or pictorial guides, it is conducted along asphalted roads even otherwise given access to for people in vehicles to cut across the sanctuary between 6Am and 6PM. The food in this place is cooked by someone who has challenged taste buds. To cap it, we were served the previous day’s tomato gravy in a poorly camouflaged form- as chutney- for breakfast served to enable an early morning exit. However, the rooms were large, adequately cleaned, ventillated and well located. This then is a Jungle Inn, to be read as “an Inn, near the Jungle”. The same experience could be obtained by staying at Hunsur and driving down to reach the sanctuary by 6 AM.

Room Tip: Hobson's choice here!
