“Not too good, Not too bad”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2013

Gardens are nice, its more like a picnic spot. Ofcourse, lots and lots of people. Traveled by bus no. 103 (volvo air conditioned only available on weekends). It is located at distance of about 25KM from Mysore city. The fountain show was an absolute disappointment and there is nothing to speak about it. Old Hindi/Regional songs and water splashing, not in sync. If in Mysore for a longish time, do visit otherwise give it a skip.

“Too crowded, but takes u down memory lane...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 14, 2013

If you are a bollywood fan, and have seen various heros and heroines of the '80s dancing around fountains - Brindavan gardens is gonna be a major deja vu!
Well placed, expansive - it is a treat for children on school trips or otherwise. the gardens are lush, the fountains - musical or otherwise are good for a once over.
The catch is it is terribly crowded and not a very peaceful experience. but it nice place for a low budget tour / a tick in the box

“Good, but could have been better”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2013

The garden is immensely popular, but it does not live up to the hype it creates. It is not a very big garden and I found the fountains working and the premises are clean. One has to visit it during the evening after the lighting is done. The garden will look deserted when you go there during the day time. ( I have been there for the evening lighting, but decided to go there during the day time, just for an experience and there were hardly 10 or 15 people all together)

IT has a nice lawn, flowering plants and some nice fountains.

The entrance is manned by unfriendly clerks who will harass you for exact change. There is again a "camera" charge, a ridiculous practice in most Indian tourist destinations. With newer mobile phones these days, how can they monitor who is using camera and these pictures are a good way to advertise an attraction. I hope some sense prevails in our tourist officials.

Overall, it is a nice garden when you talk about that in "Indian standards" and we cannot compare it with some well known gardens in foreign countries.

The garden visit would have been better with a good ticketing system, friendly clerks and practices and abolish this camera charge.
