“awesome continental food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2013

The Seventh Heaven is the continental restaurant of Hotel Combermere and it is fantastic. The location of the restaurant is very good, i.e., on the Mall. It is on the top floor of hotel Combermere with an exit to the Mall. The food is kind of heavenly and the variety is exotic. The view from the restaurant is spectacular and overlooking the valley. The service is also up to the mark. The ambiance is friendly and good. The only thing that was not good was that it was not reasonable enough, but still it is an awesome place. Recommended.

“Poor Dining Experience”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2013

Shimla has a limitation of good stand alone restaurants. Most of the decent restaurants are attacahed to some or other hotels. Visited this restaurant last week while we were taking a stroll at the Mall road. This place was recommended by our driver from Wildflower hall (Where we were staying) and he suggested this to be a good dining joint.

While we entered the restaurant from the Road entrance, it was prresumably the roof top dining area. No waiters were seen. Suddenly one soul popped up from behind the Display counter and told us that they serve only Italian food there and we wre asked to take the lift and proceed to their restaurant on the Level IV. The person seemed to be totally un-interested in any sort of service. While reaching the Level IV, you need to walk through the terrace to reach the restaurant. A Manager looking person clad in Black blazer was just reading the news paper and hardly paid any attention to these "Souls" walking in !!! While we reached the restaurant, the waiters were totally not interested in taking orders or even setting up a proper table for us. Surprisingly we noticed an elderly person walked in with his family and the entire attentiion of all the staff was turned to this particular table. (May be this could be the Owner of the restaurant). We could also see that the Un-Interested News paper readuing Manager was prompt and Suddenly from no where some 2 Blue Blazer clad employees all piling on to this table to take his orders and serve them, while we waited endlessly for a proper service of food. Every time we needed something we had to endlessly wait for some waiter to pay attention to our table. I am certain that we did not expect "Oberoi" level of service, but basis service should have been available.

This property is more focused on serving "Others" than serving regular "paying" guest. Would not recommend if you are looking for efficient service. Food tasted Good and the Butter Nan's we ordered were YUM, But service standards are extremely poor at this Restaurant.

“Nice place”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2013

The restaurants is conveniently located right next to the tourist life on the Mall. The seating area on the terrace has a beautiful view of the valley although during the monsoons you will have to settle for the indoor seating and FYI chairs both inside and outside are uncomfortable.
But the food and service is good. Although there is nothing exciting about the menu. I am form Delhi and the prices were a match for restaurants here. The snacks specially the Spring rolls were delicious. Although i read that the service was bad we had quite a good time. The waiters served us with a smile in their face. If you have a big gathering i would suggest you take them out here for a meal but its not someplace you would go back again.

“The waiters are highly demotivated”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2013 via mobile

We sat for 15 mins and no one came to attend us. This was at 4 pm in after noon when there was 20% occupancy.

Finally when someone came (after I Yelled) they said they are not sure of egg content in pasta ( as we are strict veggies) . The guy did not even offer to check with chef or customise the dish. This is supposed to be the most expensive restaurant on mall road!!!!

“Nice place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2013

Being a native of Shimla.. this is one of the preferred places to eat out, great service with tempting food.. the oriental cousine is delicious as well as the starters of all cousines... One of the best things the place has to offer is the yummy fruit truffle, but make sure you order it as soon as you go as it takes around one hour to get ready, but its worth the wait... All I all a very nice, cozy and reachable place to have food...
