“A real home from home.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2012

We had two short stays at Lutyens Bungalow during February 2012. When we arrived for the second time it felt almost like getting back home. For both visits we had clean, airy rooms with a full range of facilities. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful, following the tone set by Shukla Nath, the owner. Mealtimes are great fun, as everybody mucks in together and you hear some fascinating travellers tales. It is very easy to get into central Delhi as there is a Metro station about 10 minutes walk away.
After a disappointing experience with a different Delhi hotel in 2011 we would have no hesitation in recommending this place.

This was a lovely place to stay and the owner and staff made me feel very welcome. The rooms are very clean and well maintained and food is good. This place has a lovely atmosphere and you meet some amazing people that stay here. Walking distance to Lodhi gardens where al lot of the guests would take a morning stroll or run. I was travelling on my own and I felt very much at home here. It was lovely to sit in the garden and relax, watch the parrots and squirrells in the middle of Delhi.
Great location and lovely owner.

We have stayed here several times. The rooms are small but spotless. The hotel will arrange pick-up from the airport. It's easy to contact them via phone or email. The food is delicious. Meals are eaten "family style" and you'll meet an interesting group of visitors. The organic garden is beautiful and peaceful. Not a posh place, but very comfortable for the mid - range traveler.

A nice little family hotel in New Delhi. Location-wise this place is great, almost in walking distance to Lodhi Gardens and Khan Market. The rooms are standard, most with newly renovated bathrooms. The garden is beautiful and there is a lovely Swimming Pool. I just loved sitting in the garden watching the parrots sitting in the trees above me. The place is a bit pricey though as the rooms are a bit bare. Breakfast is included however.

We booked a room for two nights with Presi through email. I gave her the credit card details without expiry so I can send it in another email . After she asked for the expiry and I sent it. She then replied that our room that we have already agreed on is no longer available. I emailed her saying that this is really bad service and she has never replied again. Terrible!! If this is the kind of people who you talk to over email, I'm sure it can only get worse when you're there.

Beautiful garden and well maintained pool. Perfect for cooling off in the Delhi heat.

Wonderful chef who made us delicious lunch to order. Communal atmosphere round breakfast table.

Rooms dark and bathrooms a bit damp. Otherwise good.

Taxi available from within the security gates with 15 mins notice. It is very difficut to hail a rickshaw from outside the hotel itself.

Level of service not particularly high- don't expect to be able to change notes into coins, to be given info on local sights etc. Receptionist not very pro active!
