I have just returned today from India and want to post this review with the hope that I may save someone a great deal of TROUBLE. Do not under any circumstances consider staying at this hotel. Our travel agent put us here as we needed a place close to the airport for an evening rest before a 4a flight. [Do not make this mistake. No matter where your travel agent places you, check it out on the internet at a site like Trip Advisor and/or do your research first and you tell the agent where to book you. It'll save you a million headaches]. This hotel is along a row of miserable filthy buildings on the highway service road. I had wanted to pay the bill at 10p so I could nap and then leave directly for the airport. This is where the trouble starts: they didn't want me to pay at that time but wanted me to wait till 2am when I was to depart. Only after INSISTING that I wanted to pay NOW did they agree and presented me with a bill that not only included the room but a taxi ride that we had taken, not arranged by them at all, into Delhi for dinner. After a heated arguement they took the taxi ride off the bill. I gave him my Amex card only to be told that the phone line is down to the credit card clearence center and that I'd have to pay cash. Alarm bells were going off in my head. What if I had waited till 2a to do this? He, with a big smile, said I could go right next door to the ATM machine. I did and it didn't accept my card. Nor did the next one on the street. At this point I was yelling at them and ready to climb over the counter. The Mr. Bean looking front desk manager then suggested I take a taxi and look for an ATM machine that worked. I lost it. While I was on the phone to the travel agent, the front desk manager called the owner who thought I should go out in the taxi, at no charge to me, and look for an ATM machine. After that he didn't get a word in edge wise and I hung up on him. The front office manager then said he'd take my credit card and drive to another hotel (a relative's?) and run the card through. Off he went. (I know. Bad idea). As I waited in the lobby two taxis pulled up with three horrified elderly gentlemen who stood in shock looking at this building and all at the same time uttered "this is our hotel???" I went right up to them infront of the taxi drivers and hotel employees and told them of my plight and suggested they go down the road 5 minutes to the Radisson, which they did and it infuriated the hotel employees to which I smiled a huge smile. Meanwhile front desk guy returns and hadn't run the card through as the travel agent had called him and would put the card on our overall travel bill. The room was disgusting but with only a few hours left I didn't want to go down the road myself to the Radisson. I left at 2a, my taxi waiting for me. I didn't say a word. Just threw the key at the front office manager and walked out. Also, never use the Travelmasti Holidays Pvt Ltd company for your plans. The worst. I got us hotel reservations at the Agra Sheraton when they couldn't. I got us seats on Kingfisher airlines from Agra to Delhi so we didn't have to suffer the 5+ hour ride back. They couldn't get us seats as "none were available." What nonsense. On that note, fly to and from Agra. The ride is horrible. Don't know about the train. In Agra stay at a name hotel or you'll regret it forever. Other than this bad experience, we LOVE India and are going back fro three weeks at Christmas. It's a live and learn situation.
