“Good hub to see the rest of Delhi.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2013

I stayed here for 10 nights in January, in a cracking apartment that overlooked the park.

Would I come here just to see the area itself? Probably not. But as a place to have as a base for you excursions across Delhi it's great, if a little on the pricey side. The whole village is centred in a beautiful park, with ruins, and lake and fields and is noticeably quiet compared to the rest of the city. It also feels a lot safer, as my and my friend would go for walks in the early hours of the morning (but gave the parks a miss).

Theres lots here to keep you occupied inbetween your big trips. Plenty of restaurants and a museum or two.

If you go, I can't recommend the Dzükou restaurant enough. It was recommended by my friend from Nagaland (north east India). Dzükou specialises in Naga and Thai food, and it was definitely the best meal I had in my whole time in India. It's also quite high up so the view is amazing.

“What a discovery of excellent food and art places”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2013

Hauz Khas village is located in Aurobindo Marg in South Delhi and is full of energy at night with a large number of restaurants (some say over 60) and art places. Try Golconda Bowl for excellent Hyderabad food and amazing Biryani.
Ideally go with a friend who knows the place as it is a maze

“Old and new in conflict”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2013

My second time here over the past 5 years. Go there with knowledgable friends or colleagues and gems of food and art can be found. Venture out as a first timer and construction and dust combats businesses and restaurants making choices and transport extremely difficult. Great potential here, the vibe can be good but the place appears tired as it tries to regain trendy.

“Interesting place.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2013

If you are going to see 4 things:foreigners, students, ladies going for a kitty party plus the villagers who are residents of the village. This place was a village before it was turned into a chic place. It has lot of boutiques, restuarants, cafes and art galleries. But the prices of everything is very high. This is definately not a place to shop. Also the food offered is very average. The place is a bit cramped up .Wear sneakers and go there because you will have to walk quite alot. Also there is a monument with a lake there. So the place is popular among photographers.

“What a contrast between village and modern world”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2013

The plave is now in centre of Delhi where this village is more or less urbanised. It is having whole lot of shops with designer ideas/stuff for house interior.Around there is 15th centuray Madarsa which when lighted in evening by floodlight looks gr8and and takes you into past
