“Great Brand. Great Ambience. Lot of warmth. But terrible in core areas.”
PBN is a huge brand in Delhi-NCR. I have been to its various outlets several times and have enjoyed the food. So, last Sat. when my family & I decided to lunch while 'malling', we naturally walked into PBN. With a water wall, soothing music, really couteous manager - who walked with me till the door, when I asked him for the loo - this outlet is classy. But then, PBN failed us where it matters for a restaurant - food and service at the table.
Firstly, with their large & heavy crockery, etc., it was really inconvenient for us to eat on the table designated for 4.
Service is extremely poor. We asked for bowls for 'daal' which never arrived. We had to ask 2 different waiters for 'chchaach', a simple beverage that took 20 mins. The final bill itself took 1 mins!
The 'paneer' in the paneer parantha was so dry that it was choking us up.
The exotic tawa with okra veg, was had no taste in particular and was neither exotic nor punjabi. I don't know what okra was doing next to some uncooked pieces of various disparate veggies tossed up in some tasteless gravy!
But the final punch was something else. My wife has terrible stomach ache immediately after walking out and was forced to go to a loo in the mall itself. I fared a little better. I had to go to loo, but after we reached home :(
PBN is no ordinary restaurant. Its pretty expensive, in fact. Such confused dish, such service, such food that could make you sick, was really not expected!!
