“The best Japanese in. India”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2013

Amazing food. Decent service. There is a great selection outside sushi and Shashmi. Try the cod ( not as good as nobu but decent) and the lobsters.

“modern Japanese food in hip atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2013

'Wasabi' is the place to go on a Saturday evening if you want to see the Upper Class Delhi, the rich and the beautiful.

The complete setting is stunning, from the arrival at the hotel in which the restaurant is located to the service.

The food is average modern Japanese cuisine with a strong Indian influence (spices). The spicy crab actually was that spicy that you didn't taste the crab at all. It just was a petty for the crab.

BUT, again, this is the place to go, posh, hip, upper class. And yes, it's very expensive.

“Interesting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2013

We wanted a change from Indian food and Wasabi in our hotel fit the brief. The service is excellent . In India the service industry really does go the extra mile. We had yellowfin sashimi with jalpeno that was very good. we followed this with scallop tarter that was beautifully presented but which I personally did not care for. We were sitting at the Teppanyaki table as I like the whole grilled food with the show. We ordered tenderloin and jumbo shrimp. I wanted my meat rare it was overcooked for my taste bit well flavoured. The Jumbo shrimps were tasty and the portions were enormous. The atmosphere was what I call hotel elegant and it was full of people.
All in all it was good food beautifully presented. Nothing was wrong the food was of very good quality but it lacked something and i am not sure what.

“Simple the best!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2013

While staying at the fantastic Taj Mahal Hotel in Delhi we decided we needed a change from indian food for dinner, which we love. So we wandered into Wasabi on the lower ground floor, a Japanese restaurant and what a find that turned out to be.

The menu is large and comprehensive, so much so we asked for some guidance from Mohit. He explained all the dishes we asked about with enthusiasm and knowledge. As each course was brought to us he and Deepak served them with pride and quite rightly so this was food and service at its very best.

The scallops with foie gras were superb as was the pork cooked for 18 hours, the batter on the mixed tempura starter was fabulous and the wasabi sorbet sensational.

At first glance we thought the menu looked a little expensive but as each course was brought to us and explained by Deepak or Mohit it lis clearly excellent value for money for a meal of this quality. Food cooked by chefs who along with the waiting staff are indeed world class and I mean that most seriously, they are.

If you are looking for fantastic food, service, knowledge and culinary expertise along with food theatre this Is the place to come.

Thank you for a most delightful evening we shall never forget to all the team at Wasabi. Mr Watson from the UK Sept 6 2013.
