“Bad Poor not good... stay away”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 weeks ago

I've been from 16th to 18th MArch 2015 - really poor, fake pictures at all! Night staff very nice, day staff so and so. Rooms not clean, linen dirty, toilet dirty. In general felling of not safe place. Very noisy because you are in the main bazar - Pahar Ganji and all day and night until 2AM is very very very noisy and you cannot sleep!
Additionally Hotel has ad groud floor very unpleaset Tour offici or tour operator - they call you in the room and force you to book tours (STAY AWAY very unsafe and dangerous and steeling money!!!!)
When you arrive you pay the price + taxes (I've used booking so price without taxes) and then SURPRISE SURPSISE - extra charge! Because we are tourists so "chickens" with money and what they should do? Squeez your money!
Never ever there even for 5 mins!

out of the "hotel" you can't walk, there is a fight between all the people that want to have you as customer (or chiken to squeez!!)

Positive point wifi was working in the room and was excellent
Of course no warm water only cold but was hot outside so it's good!
The location by the way is really good, 10 mins walking from main train station and 10 mins walking from metro

this hotel was nothing close to expectations made from pictures and very good reviews...you'll find dirty sheets (pretty common in Delhi), located in a very noisy area at every hour day and night, since it's in the main bazar. The positive thing of the location is that it is close to several restaurants and to train and metro station. Be careful with scams...they tend to offer you touristics packages that are not needed and expensive.

It is a good budget hotel. I loved the location, close to the railway station, as well as walking distance to the metro station. The hotel does not have an elevator, neither it has a restaurant. We were given a room on the 3rd floor and climbing the stairs was a nightmare. The rooms are well decorated but not maintained. Wall colour was peeling due to water logging and the worst part is there was NO VENTILATION in the washroom as well as the room. We had rented 3 rooms and it was the same in all 3. They allowed us to check in early as we had reached in the morning, but the front desk person was very rigid and gave us a real hard time. Rooms were equipped with electric kettle but no tea/coffee/milk was provided along with it.

Great budget hotel right on the main bazaar in Paharganj. The manager Vikas Dutt and the staff are very helpfull. I had a great stay.

The hotel has WIFI routers on each floor, so you have internet connection through the whole hotel. So you are all way's connected.

Ill be going back there next time I visit Delhi.

What started off as an OK stay turned a bit sour, not entirely for the hotel’s fault.

In April, I had booked my accommodation for October, using a link I got in an Expedia marketing mailer that offered “a steal”. I booked a standard room for three nights at Rs 1,350, which was supposed to be a reduced price. When I landed at the hotel I found that the room was available for Rs 800, and an AC room for Rs 1000. The receptionist promised to talk to the owner and shift me to an AC room at no extra cost, because barring a couple of rooms, the hotel was empty. That never happened. To my disillusionment, I found that in the much neater and nearby Hotel Shelton, I could have got an AC room for Rs 1200.

Keeping aside that, if you manage to escape the dragnet of travel sites and can talk to the hotel directly, at the true price, Hotel Arjun is not a bad deal.

I wanted a hotel proximate to a metro station. In that respect, the hotel qualified, being within 10 minutes off Ashram Road station. One evening, I even took an unhurried walk from Connaught Place to the hotel. Except that it is bang in the middle of noisy Pahadganj market, the location worked for me, since I had to take the first train for photography.

The other good thing is that there are any numbers of eateries close by, including Subway. The hotel’s kitchen was not functional – may be because of low occupancy and guests were given coupons for complimentary breakfast at the nearby Shelton Hotel’s terrace restaurant called Kitchen Cafe. In the months leading up to winter, that is a nice morning setting.

Arjun is a typical 2 star Delhi hotel. The floor is white marble, but there is no lift. The owner family occupies part of the first floor, but that doesnot matter to guests.

( I wrote to Expedia, who had the courtesy to reply that when bulk bookings are done in advance, and if demand does not match high expectations, then hotels may off load rooms at lower rates. Though the logic can be disputed, including the use of enticements such as "By invitation only", "secret escapes" and "nothing less than 50%" in promotional mailers, by replying they proved an exception compared to some of the larger travel sites whose callousness I have been a victim of)

Room Tip: Away from the street
