“Excellent and busy business hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2012

This is a large hotel and is essentially a business hotel - it just has that feel about it. We booked a Regency Club Room which came with airport transfers, wi-fi and of course club access.

Pick up at the airport was quick and efficient although I am not sure I consider a Toyota Camry to be a limousine. It was comfortable and mostly clean enough. Warmly met at the hotel and taken to the room for check-in. All the club rooms are about the same size and there seem to be no suites on the club levels.

Our room was fine and filled with red coloured woods on the floor and walls and overlooked the city. We had a couple of issues....first, the bed frame actually snapped and we were not doing anything silly or outrageous! We also had a non working hairdryer and faulty tap. Went to club reception to get it repaired and they were very obliging.

Headed out for the afternoon and on return (about four hours later) they were only putting the finishing touches to the repair. I was a little surprised that this was not completed in that time. Had a look at the repair but decided to take a new room instead which they were very happy to offer. To our surprise, this was a newly refurbished room and looked a lot more modern. I will add some pictures.

The club lounge is quite lounge and gets VERY busy. The staff struggle to keep the food and beverages replenished. This was especially noticable at breakfast. Not sure what they could do to fix this but the lounge lacked a bit of atmosphere because of its size and how busy it is. Perhaps a partitioning?

Had dinner in the Indian Restaurant and it is fantastic - some of the best food in Delhi. The service was also wonderful. Also had high tea in the cafe and we could not have been more pleased with the service. The staff offered to bring items from the buffet to us.

This is a very good quality hotel and is exactly what you expect from a Hyatt. Because of that it probably lacks a little bit of local charm but that is then delivered by the staff.

Room Tip: Ask for a refurbished room

“Nice hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2012 via mobile

I normally stay at the taj palace but we decided to change this time out to this hotel ....
It offers free wifi and this is a sure plus for it ...
The hotel is located next to a very busy road and thus there is always a lot of traffic and horn ...
But the rooms were enough noise isolated ...
However there were constructions going on an it was a little disturbing...
The service is awesome as across indian hotel ...
I had a baked cheese cake yesterday and it was not the best of it ...
However the service was prompt and nice ....
The bathroom and toilets were beautifully designed and i loved the white with black granite in it ....
Nice hotel to stay in

“A bit of a way out of town..”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2012

Booked as part of a Grand Tour of India (Cox and Kings) so have no idea of rates. Breakfast choice was excellent as was the Indian Restaurant (though not cheap-£70 for two with beer not wine). Staff were delightful . Nice touch was the bouquet of red roses presented to me on arrival-the trip was to celebrate our thirtieth wedding anniversary
It is quite a long way out of central Delhi though, and a very busy area.

“Luxury, first class service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2012

Visited Late 2009

Only stayed a couple of nights and was very impressed. The room was lovely, the hotel was beautiful and luxurious. Very safe and guards are security conscious as you would expect. The restaurants and room service were great. Will certainly go back.

“...a wonderful oasis of calm and serenity.....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2012

The Hyatt Regency is a wonderful oasis of calm and serenity, a welcome escape from blaring horns, the crowds and the chaos that epitomises Delhi! You step into that marvellous marble foyer and are transported into tranquility and a rather luxurious lifestyle! The revamped bedrooms are great with fabulous king-sized beds and bright, modern bathrooms with enormous square baths. All the restaurants are good, but we particularly like T.K.'s the teppanyaki restaurant where the chefs treat cooking as an art form and The Chinese kitchen which is buzzy and fun with great cooking. The gardens are lovely and the scent of the jasmine exquisite especially after a heavy shower and the pool is a great place to enjoy the sun and a light lunch.
Ladies, I cannot recommend Sangeeta at the spa for eyebrow threading highly enough, she could wow them in Knightsbridge!
As for pashmina shopping, as an expert who has tried many other places, look no further than the shopping arcade and go and see Raies at the KCI Emporium - he is simply the best!
Really cannot think of a single negative, we have stayed in many other hotels in Delhi, but now only stay at the Hyatt as it certainly ticks all our boxes..

Room Tip: Ask for one overlooking the pool and gardens
