“nice hotel in an excellent location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 days ago NEW

We booked the Met for four nights towards the end of our stay in India. We chose the hotel based on its central location and the reviews we read about it. We were very happy with our experience. The hotel itself is beautiful and well appointed. The rooms are nice and the staff is very friendly. The breakfast buffet is delicious and includes a wide variety of options (North Indian, South Indian, East Asian, and western). A special thanks goes to one of the managers, Mr. Abhinav who showed a great deal of professionalism and hospitality. We really appreciate his help.

Positive:
Rooms are well maintained and very spacious. Buffet breakfast was excellent. WIFI is not free but I was able to negotiate and got free WIFI after extending my stay for 2 more days.

Negative:
I stayed during the World Cup, and could not watch the game either in my room or at the Bar. As a die hard football fan, I have to go The Park Hotel (few blocks away) to watch the game. Other than the above, I have no problem with my stay.

Over a period of two weeks we stayed three times in the Met Hotel New Delhi. The service was excellent and the rooms were exactly as we had expected. The staff could not have been more helpful. I would strongly recommend this hotel to visitors and locals alike.

Just outstanding service, excellent amenities, spotlessly clean, beautiful furnishings, and above all wonderful staff that is always ready to help. Great breakfast buffet too! Had dinner at the restaurant, quality of food was excellent, may be the service could be improved a little.

I stayed 4 nights from the 17th of june to the 20th of june in the Deluxe room with breakfast and wi fi included on the second floor and 2 nights from the 20th to the 23rd of June in the Club room which is on the 8th floor. the deluxe room was large, comfortable, had exceptional housekeeping service with room cleaning everyday as well as a turn down service in the evening so my bed was made up twice a day which was a good touch. The housekeeping responded well to requests for extra towels. The toiletries were of a high quality. The check in on the 17th was not so good as I found the receptionists with a I don't care attitude. I had to remind them that I have the wi fi in my package and ask for a password. But on the 20th when i came back to the reception to upgrade my room, the receptionists were very friendly, polite, apologetic. full marks to them. the breakfast was good, again great service. The upgrade to the Club Room was not worth the money. On moving up to the topmost floor I was expecting a bigger room. But unfortunately all the rooms are the same in the hotel. everything is the same in the Deluxe room as well as the Club room, the only difference is you get to use the business center and U have complimentary drinks in the evening. I used the gym and sauna which is good. Overall a pleasant stay and well trained staff.

Room Tip: The second floor is good for wi fi. As you move upwards the signal get weak.

Horrible experience. Fail to fulfill the commitment. Located in good place but service very poor. We are staying for 3 nights but we take food from outside. The carpets in the room are pretty dirty and it shows as well. If there was an award for the rudest receptionists award this hotel would win hands down! This is a terrible hotel. It claims to be a 5star hotel but it is not worth even 3star.

I spent 3 weeks here with my family this month. This hotel served as our base and while we travelled to 3 other cities, the Met was our home for 3 full weeks. First of all, the location next to Connaught Place and the Bangla Sahib Gurdwara is fantastic. Shopping, dining and sightseeing are minutes away. The hotel has a very nice pool and spa, superb dining and very professional staff in every capacity. Even the housekeeping staff would ask us if there was anything we needed or desired whenever they saw us in the hallways. We had breakfast included in our package and it was easily the best breakfast experience and among the best dining experience during our entire India vacation. Each morning we enjoyed the vast variety of tasty food that included, North Indian, South Indian and Western cuisine. The wait staff at the breakfast restaurant are world class in their speed, attentiveness and courtesy. You never had to wave anyone down for anything...they just magically appeared! The food quality was outstanding and they gladly made items for us that were not on the buffet. They have a great bakery as well that made a wonderful birthday cake for my son and then refuse payment for the same as a gift from the hotel! We used the spa a few times to massage out our bodies weary from excessive walking in the stifling heat and they did not disappoint. I had the Kizhi massage which was intense but very relaxing. Overall, we had a great time at the Met and would gladly return there again. I only had two complaints and escalated them both to the hotel GM. There was some sort of repair going on with the hot water system and that caused the water to have a slight odor for the following couple of days. Even more annoying was the shaky wifi coverage. We got booted off literally every few minutes and that was very disruptive when you are trying to get some work done. I hope both these concerns have been resolved at this time. I give the Met 10 stars out of 5 for their world class service and attention to detail and an overall 4.5 rating.

Room Tip: Get a room facing Bangla Sahib Marg(main road) for some fun people watching.
