“Good modern hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 22, 2014

A modern hotel on the outskirts of Delhi. The rooms were well equipped and spacious. The breakfast buffet was excellent. The only downside we found was that the bar was not particularly large. We were a group of 8 and could never have sat together, not enough tables and chairs. Nice swimming pool although you needed to go into the buffet area to get drinks sent out.

I checked into Metropolitan Hotel $ Spa on Saturday 22 February 2014 and was more than impressed with the welcoming attitude of the staff right from the gate, through lugage screening, check in formalties, and settling down im my room - Room 214. What stood for me was the excellent cleaning of the room by a certain hardworking man, whose name I now forget. On each of the days I stayed, this man was all fours scrubbing the floors and cleaning the entire room. He told me he has been with the Hotel for about 10 years. I was just impressed. I enjoyed the food in the restaurant as well. I'll certainly choose MET again. Adegbola Adesina, Nigerian.

I stayed at The Metropolitan hotel in October 2013 for a business trip. Staff was always friendly and ready to help.

The room was really spacious and the bed was comfortable. I was a little unsatisfied with the pillows but that is just a matter of personal preference. The general appearance was also a little outdated and worn.

The Chutney restaurant has amazing food and we actually ate 3 out of our 5 dinners during the trip in there. The breakfast buffet is also great with huge selection of different foods. Fresh omelets are made to order.

Overall the hotel was very good and the only (albeit major) part of the hotel that is not of 5 star standard are the rooms.

We paid extra for club class and were promised free drinks in the evenings but this never materialised. The club lounge was ordinary and had two desktop computers in it. Staff were wonderful - rooms spacious and comfortable. Tour desk very helpful indeed. Star was the Chutney restaurant which was truly excellent. Wonderful food and superb service. Breakfast gets 8/10.

Great location. Really nice, clean room. Staff friendly. Fantastic breakfast. The travel desk were friendly and helpful but if you use their inhouse drivers, it's very expensive. They also have local cabs on site which are really reasonably priced.

I have to be honest first, this is not a five star hotel. It is a solid four star hotel if you want, but definitely not 5 stars. That being said, my experience at The Met was wonderful. I have nothing but good things to say about it. The location is great, very central, easy access to most of Delhi highlights. From here you are not going to spend more than 200 rupees in a cab to almost all Delhi central attractions. The staff at the hotel is nice and the service superb. The rooms are OK (nothing great but pretty decent), and the bed is fantastic! The best thing about the Met, however, are the restaurants. We had dinner in Sakura once, which is a superb japanese restaurant, and we ate at Chutney´s twice. The Indian food here was great! We also use the SPA: very nice and affordable. In short: I absolutely recommend this hotel.

The best is the cleanliness, the sleep quality and the coock. The only black point is the location in a place where there's no shops or monuments. And at night the streets have no much light and its difficult to walk.
