The last time I was here in 2010, one of my traveling partners got sick from the outdoor buffet and even though the bill was $175 for our party's lunch when I contacted the Imperial several times, they simply ignored the direct email contact.
I went back today, because its a nice place... ate safer and I am happy to say survived.
The service was efficient, and certainly entered the property with a nice round of management ordered folded hands and namastes. The Imperial is nice, if it has a problem, it just knows its the Imperial. I am sure the more you spend, the more its like the credit card scenes in "Pretty Woman', but, certainly nothing feels sincere.
This is not the fault of staff, but, of how management must be ordering it to be done.
Clearly the place is impressive, and no one should expect this grand hotel to be less. But, it is not surprising, it is predictable... there is nothing that sets it apart from hotels of this caliber. Coffee and tea... what you would expect, over priced to keep out the riff raff. In this level of hotel in Delhi, there are other options... they are probably worth considering.
