This hotel, although not brand new, stands out for many reasons and having read the some mixed reviews before going, I was certainly apprehensive.
Any fears I may have had were immediately dispelled. The check in staff were helpful and friendly; nothing was too much trouble. It was efficient and very quick. We were relaxing in our room within minutes.
The level of service and general interaction between staff and clients is second to none and as a business owner, enviable. From the room staff who seemed to be working 24/7 and always available in the corridor (for your needs) to bar/poolside and restaurant servers. I simply cannot say enough good things. They were bloody perfect! I felt like a king.
Now the Room, well, we did get our room moved but not because of the hotel. There was a tour group and 3 elderly Americans were so noisy they woke us both at 3.30am then again at 7.30am (on our first full nights sleep) I can tell you I was pissed and they got to know about it. The front office manager and her assistant (I'm so sorry, I have misplaced your names - there were so good, I did make a note of them) dealt with the matter efficiently, didn't make a fuss, just dealt with it.
I was happy, in fact, happy and impressed by the way it was handled. It doesn't get better! To finish off, superb room, clean, a little tired, yes, sorry but I want to be completely fair, could have done with a tart up of the soft furnishings. Amazing house keeping staff; friendly, quick, nothing was too much trouble, extra tea, a bit of milk, it's there! and at any time of the day it seemed. I've stayed in plenty Hiltons, from the Calavlieri in Rome to the Beverly in LA, NEVER had service like this.
Food - Breakfast - You can have what your heart desires, Traditional Indian, Traditional English, American, even Japanese. Im starting to sound like I don't travel, I do! I know a breakfast and I know when I see a superb breakfast. Don't be afraid of the fruit or salad, I ate both every day, without a problem. The hotel is spotless, the serving staff are immaculate, the chefs were in and out (checking the buffet food), looked professional and nothing, again, was too much trouble. I fancied some chopped onion with my smoked salmon and it was there! Well done the breakfast staff, you are a credit to your hotel.
Food - Room service - If you get the chance, try the prawn and coconut broth! I thought I had tasted good soup in Thailand but this was just the dogs boll*cks! Tasty, perfectly spiced, served hot (in our room!) Now, I won't go into everything we had but suffice to say, it matched the rest of the food/service within the hotel and above all. The first room service menu I have ever seen where the prices didn't make me feel sick! Well done again, reasonably priced, top quality food served quickly and professionally in your room! Shouldn't that just be the way for all hotels?
Gym - I used the expensive gym a few days of our 9 day stay, it had everything you need, equipment is modern and the staff were friendly. I'm an in and out, get the job done guy at the gym so I didn't hang about for chat and didn't need help. All in all, plenty of equipment, not busy and well air conditioned.
Executive lounge. Pretty small for the size of the hotel but friendly staff, nice canapes in the evening, decent breakfast (not as good as the restaurant obviously) . All in all very good, if you do have access defo try it out for a coffee at least after breakfast, the views are lovely and it's an ideal place to 'blow away the cobwebs'.
In Summary - I cannot speak highly enough of this hotel, The turned me around totally, as I said I was apprehensive. I could not recommend this hotel enough, ideal location, (right next to the metro) THE STAFF ARE SIMPLY PERFECTION! the food was superb and the rooms are generously sized with every (and more) facility you require.
To the General Manager - I will be returning to your hotel next time I am in Delhi later this year in the meantime, I would like to sincerely congratulate you on the brilliant standard set by your staff at Eros by Hilton. You should feel very proud of your achievements and of their hard work. I will be sending a copy of my review to Hilton. John Pagani
