Very organised, large bristling hotel.
Great location; tree-lined streets; Unlike some of the older, grander properties, there are no hawkers in the immediate vicinity; close to main attraction and Connaught Street.
Very nice size room. Very comfortable bed; lovely pillows.
Thin walls and unfortunately the rest of the floor was occupied by hockey players taking part in the Women's World Tournament and their coaches who gave vigorous team talks with bedroom doors open. Always travel with earplugs!
Nice big shower room but minor details let the side down ... Metal holders loose and rusty.
Staff friendly and helpful, especially during busy breakfast crush.
Popular property.
Didn't use the pool which looked attractive : Delhi pollution not conducive to sitting outdoors.

Room Tip: Definitely a higher floor!

Me and my colleague stayed at Lalit for 9 days. We had a good deal which included breakfast, 24 hr free wi-fi and dinner. The stay was comfortable. The hotel though needs to improve on hospitality. I was provided fruits and chocolate on the first day. Next day there was nothing. When I inquired to the guest relation lady, she asked me "do you want it everyday"? I was a bit taken aback but said yes and since then they kept both fruits and chocolate in my room. My colleague is a bit shy and never asked for either and he never got any chocolates in his room. Once or twice he got fruits.
The breakfast spread at Lalit is quite huge but we found their sweet breads, Indian breakfast and fresh fruits only up to the mark. Similarly dinner consisted of buffet with a large spread but only Indian cuisine tasted the best.
Also there were times when I felt hotel staff (in the dining area) was partial towards foreigners. During our stay we found a large no. of foreigners staying. Everyday when I would go for my breakfast, I'd had to wait for 10 mins to get my tea on my table while a white guest would be immediately attended.
But the dining staff was also quite accommodating. After continuously eating almost the same buffet for 6 days, I requested them to give me something different from the ala cart. One Mr. Anil got me pasta in white sauce with garlic bread (which I asked for) and did not charge me separately but adjusted in my dinner plan.
I'd recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a good location and if you are getting a good deal , it is decent place to stay.

Room Tip: Top floors facing the city

We stayed here at the start of out tour of India with those excellent people Trinetra Tours. The Lalit hotel rooms are spotlessly clean and very spacious. We stayed here twice: at the beginning and end of our holiday. My only reservation is the way the bathroom is designed: it has glass windows so you could be seen on the loo if you chose not to pull th blinds down?? Why not just have a wall??
There is a nightclub in the hotel but on both stays we had no noise disturbance - we were on floors 12 and 25. We enjoyed the pool area on the last day of our holiday.
We ate in the 24/7 restaurant once - expensive but the 1800rupee buffet was the best we'd come across on our travels. We also ate in the Indian restaurant - expensive.
Check out the first time seemed to take for ever but was much slicker second time.
Expensive wifi - why don't all hotels give it free!

This hotel has a very good location. Walking distance from CP and on a quiet road. The interior of the hotel and the room is decent. However the food can be avoided, the check in laborious and the housekeeping is tedious. The area to laze behind the restaurant was ideal to soak in the sun on a winter morning. Stayed for a night, checkout was handled very well.

Everything about this hotel was OK, there was nothing to complain about, but at the same time there was nothing to set it apart from similar large international hotels from around the world.

If that sounds harsh, I don't mean it to - The hotel is in a great location to visit the sites of Delhi and acts as a great oasis after a day of site seeing or meetings in this crazy city.

The hotel staff were impeccably well turned out and always friendly and helpful, and the hotel was very clean and smart.

However a colleague of mine had a room that was extremely musty and felt like it hadn't been used for a while (apart from that it was fine).

The pool area was well presented and the pool staff were attentive.

Food was good, and the buffet breakfast caters for all tastes from (virtually) all corners of the earth

I was there to attend a conference, and there were times when the organisation was a bit random, such as the lack of seats for the main conference 'gala', so many delegates had to stand to eat 'sit down food', and the bar running dry.

But I am being picky - This is a good hotel, and I wouldn't complain if I ended up there again, but given the chance I would try another hotel in the city.

Room Tip: Anywhere high up will provide an interesting view!

Lalit Hotel is Located in the hot of the city with reasonable cost.24/7 restaurant was very nice. Provisional Billing details are sent to the room before 6 hours of checking out. It would be nice if they check in time taken can be reduced.

Room Tip: Road side view is the best
