“Lovely gateway.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2013

While Qutb Minar casts a huge shadow on this building, this is still an impressive gateway, dating back to the early 14th century.
The gateway's arches are impressive, but here's the funny part – while this is an Islamic building, it is decorated with numerous Jewish symbols, mainly the Star of David.

“One of the oldest gates in Delhi”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2013

Alai Darwaza is the main southern entrance gate of the Quwwa-ul-Islam Mosque. It was built in the 13th century. The Alai Darwaza is located in the Qutub Complex of Delhi.

The architecture is built with red sandstone, inlaid with white marble decorations and carvings. There are verses from the Quran featured as well.

This size of the Alai Darwaza is very impressive. With a height of a little over fourteen meters. The gate is about seventeen meters long and ten meters long from the inside. It is very historic, the work of the Turkish artisans is remarkable.
