“Another hotel that is difficult to review..”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2013

I had good and bad experiences here. We came here with a G adventures group in Nov 2012. We spent a few days here by ourselves first..
We had 3 different rooms in this hotel. So I think we got to see a lot of what is offered in each of the rooms. None of the showers actually worked in the rooms. So you fill a bucket and use the pail to shower. Sometimes you would get hot water. Sometimes you would get stone cold water.
I found the floors gritty and dirty but the rooms were for the most part passably clean. I would recommend them to use bleach with the white linens on the bed because they weren't very white anymore.
I found the staff helpful and friendly.
For Breakfast - Skip the American breakfast (skimpy and poor) the Indian Breakfast is AWESOME!! I really enjoyed the Indian Breakfast here. Best Breakfast I had in ALL of India over a month touring.
Bring your earplugs if you want to sleep in India! This country never sleeps. And this hotel is on a busy street with a Mosque behind it. So at 5 am you get woken up by prayers from the mosque. Then the noise of traffic starts... and well without earplugs you will not be able to sleep. This is pretty usual for Delhi - so don't think that other hotels will be quieter.. its a LOUD city.

Finding this place was a huge challenge since it's not really near anything. A bit of a walk takes you to street market which sells different things on different days and you will find the Karol Bagh metro station at the other end of the street market. Hot water is only on in the mornings even when they said they would turn it on in the evening when I inquired about taking a shower after an incredibly dirty day. There are two positive things here, a bank machine next door and wifi on every other floor.

I had 3 nights there, with two different room. This place is not clean at all. The worst hotel room I had in India. In every room there's something that doesn't work. Service is really slow. I really not recommend.

Sisley has very friendly and helpful receptionists. But the rooms are not clean. The young man who has to take care of the rooms rummages in the toiletries and refuses to replace used sheets. The rooms are basic and the rooms at the side of the street are very noisy. When we asked for a quiet room, we were immediately moved to a room in the back. Breakfast was taken in the basement and two out of the three nights we stayed there, we found mattresses in the restaurant. It seemed as if noone took his breakfast there. Later we found out that breakfast was served in the room and a tip was expected when it was brought to your room. Reception refused a tip but the porters were not pleased as we did not tip them the first day. The reason was that we had no small notes.

Room Tip: The front rooms are more comfortable as far as beds are concerned but extremely noise;, especially a...

The Sisley is used as the start and end hotel by GAdventures. The rooms are clean and cosy and room service wil promptly bring you up a beer. It seems in the middle of chaotic Delhi but if you walk around the area, you'll find a very busy market three blocks away and some very good restaurants nearby. After a long flight into India, when you finally get to your room, you're really glad its clean and quiet

Room Tip: Try to avoid rooms that face the street. You may think you want to look out on everything but the no...

Booked this hotel 1 night earlier before G Adventures tour - after being a little hesitant in its surrounds I was quite relieved the room was pleasant and the staff helpful - all you had to do was ask for what every was needed heads up if the air conditioning isn't working just ask there is a switch that they need to turn on for you - did have to move rooms although I had booked an extra night through G Adventures. As we had a day to fill in Delhi before our 6 o'clock G Adventures greeting we arranged a driver for the day from the hotel this was fantastic he spoke English and took us to all the places on our list. Truly recommend doing this especially if you time is limited in Delhi. You are also in walking distance from some restaurants and street market

5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2012

Between a torn down building and another shady one lay Sisley Hotel, newly contructed/remodelled and I was relieved only when I saw the rooms. Neat rooms with nicely done interiors, not over-spacious and I had nothing to complain (not because I had to spend only one night here).
Beds were cosy, sleep was comfortable and I was fresh for my first day of the outing at Delhi.

The hotel breakfast next day was a bit late but ppl were courteous. We had bread, jam, butter, boiled eggs, corn flakes, macroni, puri -baaji, orange juice.

Room Tip: Stayed at room no.304 which was good. But can't say the same about room 305 (with a double bed...
